Amanda Holden has admitted she’s “barely seen” her husband Chris Hughes in the last few weeks, even confessing to her Heart FM listeners about a “complaint” he’s had.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge mentioned that Chris was fed up as there was no date night this week, a revelation sparked by co-presenter Ashley Roberts’ sharing about Sir Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster’s regular ritual.
Responding to this, Amanda disclosed that her busy schedule had forced them to cancel their usual romantic rendezvous. She said: “Chris complained that we haven’t got a date night this week. I’ve barely seen Chris in June because I’ve been away.”
Her revelations came amid a discussion offering relationship advice for long-term couples.
Amanda and Chris, who started dating back in 2004, have been happily wedded since December 10, 2008. On speaking about her marriage with the record producer, Amanda previously told HELLO! magazine that it’s his humorous nature and his ability to maintain a positive outlook during challenging times that keeps her going.
She also gushed over his reliable character and, despite admitting he’s “rubbish at romance”, said “he’s there for the solid things” like ensuring she takes time out to relax.
Amanda, known for her stint on Britain’s Got Talent, has also previously opened up about her past marriage to TV legend Les Dennis. The pair tied the knot in 2005 but called it quits in 2003 amid rumours of her affair with actor Neil Morrissey.
Chatting with the Liverpool Echo, Amanda Holden opened up on her split from the telly fave, revealing some hard truths about their time together.
She confessed: “I terribly want children, but I didn’t want to have them with Les. That’s a horribly brutal thing to say, but when you do, you know you have to move on.”
Holden added, “There are no hard feelings with Les. I wish him the best, but we’ve both moved on. I don’t believe women have affairs for no reason. Women don’t seek sex we seek love and affirmation.”
