Amanda Holden has been issued a stern warning over her outfit for the Britain’s Got Talent final.
The telly fave, 53, has been wowing the nation for years on ITV show, thanks to her jaw-dropping ensembles. From braless displays to racy frocks, Amanda pulls out the stops when it comes to her fashion choices on BGT.
However, it’s fair to say her dresses have ruffled plenty of feathers too. Amanda received 235 Ofcom complaints for her plunging navy gown back in 2020, which viewers slammed as being “too revealing” for a family programme.

What’s more, in 2017, a Julien MacDonald dress – costing a whopping £11,250 – sparked fury with its low neckline, attracting 663 Ofcom complaints – the most complained about TV moment that year.
And with the Britain’s Got Talent 2024 final kicking off on Sunday (June 2) all eyes will be on Amanda as she no doubt debuts another show-stopping look.
Acts like singer Sydnie Christmas and magician Trixy are battling it out to be crowned the champ. Comedian Alex Mitchell and dancing duo Abigail & Afronitaaa will also be taking to the stage in a bid to bag the £250,000 prize and a slot at the Royal Variety Performance.
However, ahead of the live final airing on Sunday (June 2), Amanda has now been warned not to “overshadow the talent on the show” when it comes to her fashion choices – in a bid to “minimise controversy.”
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Dom Aldworth, Head of Brand Marketing at Slingo shared how Amanda is a notable figure on the show, not just for her judging “but also her often daring and glamorous outfits.”
He explained: “Over the years, her fashion choices have stirred quite a bit of controversy. The complaints typically revolve around the perceived inappropriateness of her attire for a family-oriented show.”
Dom then went on to note how her fashion choices “often garner substantial media coverage, which can be both beneficial and detrimental.” He said: “While it keeps her in the headlines, it also risks drawing negative attention, as it has in the past.”
The expert added: “The show is ultimately about showcasing the talents of the contestants. If a judge’s attire is causing more conversation than the performances, it might be perceived as overshadowing the talent the show aims to highlight.”
Dom then noted: “While Amanda’s fashion is a part of her brand, it’s important to balance personal expression with the purpose of the show.” He went on to say how “a balanced approach for the final” could “help minimise controversy” as well as “ensure the spotlight stays on the deserving contestants.”
He added: “This doesn’t mean she needs to forgo her flamboyant style, but rather adapt it in a way that aligns with the event’s nature and audience expectations.”
