Michelle Collins is a name that will go down in soap history.
Known for playing the femme fatal of Walford Cindy Beale, the 62-year-old actress made a shock return to EastEnders after a 25-year hiatus. Viewers were left reeling from the sensational twist, as it was understood the villainous character had died during childbirth in prison, where she was serving time for hiring a hitman to kill hubby Ian.
But in true soap fashion, it turned out man-eater Cindy is still alive and kicking, but had gone into witness protection after snitching on a gangster cellmate. Locals at the Queen Vic pub quickly welcomed Michelle back with open arms, but the star says reprising the role was a ‘nerve-wrecking experience’.

However, it wasn’t long until the actor felt like she had never left.
Appearing on the How To Be 60 podcast, hosted by Loose Women star Kaye Adam, Michelle spoke candidly about the tragic death of her mother, and finding love in her 60s. When asked whether her career could take another turn, she replied: “I’ve got a few secret ambitions, really. But then if I told you, would it be secret?
“You know what, I’ve never worked at the National Theatre. I’d love to work at the National Theatre… One day, I’d love to play Blanche de Bois.”
Perhaps more surprisingly, Michelle has also got her eyes on securing a motorbike licence. She explained that her partner, who recently proposed to her in Los Angeles, rides a bike and that she’d love to join him on a road trip across the United States.
“I just want to do it and not tell him and then surprise him,” Michelle added.” But for now, the icon will inevitably be causing mayhem in EastEnders with her sinister plots and thirst for revenge.
