BBC presenter swears seven times in one minute live on air as she grills Home Secretary

BBC star Mishal Husain dropped the bomb seven times in a minute while questioning James Cleverly on air.

She was on Radio 4’s Today Programme and asked the Home Secretary about some mistakes he’s said to have made that got people angry. Mr Cleverly didn’t remember calling the Tory Rwanda plan “bats**t”. This was after Yvette Cooper from Labour talked about it in the Commons when the Supreme Court stopped the Government’s big immigration idea. Mr Cleverly said he doesn’t think he called the Rwanda policy ‘bats**t’.

He also said no to calling Stockton a “s***hole” in November but said sorry for saying a Labour MP was “s**t”. Alex Cunningham from Labour said Mr Cleverly called his place a “sh**hole” in the Commons.

Mishal spoke to him about ‘the time you were said to call a government policy bats**t’ and when he called ‘a person or place a s**thole in Parliament’. Mr Clevery quickly said: “No I didn’t,” and then Ms Husain asked if he really never used the word “You didn’t use the word s**thole in Parliament?” in Parliament.

The Home Secretary got into a bit of a tiff on the telly with Ms Husain. She asked him if he said a naughty word in Parliament. He told her she was wrong and needed to do her homework better.

“You used the word s**t didn’t you?” she pushed. “Yes I did, but the point is what you just accused me of is very very different and completely wrong.” he admitted, but insisted she got her facts mixed up. Ms Husain wasn’t giving up: “Ok, you say that you did say that a person was a s**t. Other people heard different things.”

He tried to clear it up, saying he had already explained himself, but she kept on: “Other people say you said s**thole, you say you said s**t.” The Home Secretary was sure of what he said, but the presenter wasn’t so sure.

“And other people heard something else,” she said, but he shot back: “No they didn’t, they couldn’t have, because I only heard one thing. That’s not how science works.” He said sorry last year for his words, but made it clear he was talking about Mr Cunningham, not the place.

His spokesperson cleared it up: “James made a comment. He called Alex Cunningham a s**t MP. He apologises for unparliamentary language. “As was made clear yesterday, he would never criticise Stockton. He’s campaigned in Stockton and is clear that it is a great place.”
