The Traitors favourite Sonja has been banished from the Scottish castle despite being a Faithful.
The 66-year-old volunteer was dumped by her fellow co-stars who were convinced she was one of the Traitors during Thursday’s (January 4) dramatic roundtable. She receives the most votes from the remaining contestants meaning that she had to immediately leave the BBC show.
Before leaving, host Claudia Winkleman asked Sonja to share with the room if she was a Faithful or a Traitor and she confirmed she was not the latter. Following the latest vote-off, disappointed fans rushed to their keyboards to share their thoughts on Sonja’s premature exit as well as Aubrey’s departure, who left at the start of the episode.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: “WHY ARE WE BEING ROBBED OF ALL THE ICONS FIRST AUBREY NOW SONJA. Another added: “Don’t tell me they’re taking out Aubrey and Sonja straight away. We’re being robbed of weeks of high camp TV!” A third person wrote: “JUSTICE FOR SONJA she was an icon.” Someone else said: “Not everyone bandwagon voting Sonja off first. I HATE IT HERE!!!! How have we lost such an icon already.”
In the first episode, host Claudia chose Paul, Ash and Harry to be the Traitors. They then recruited co-star Miles to join them. And in Thursday’s show (January 4) the gang were tasked to choose someone to “murder”. After much deliberation, they chose Aubrey – which meant his time on the show was over. And fans were not too happy with the decision. On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person said: “Aubrey would have been fun.. poor guy! robbed.”
Someone else added: “Aww not Aubrey.” A third chimed in and penned: “Aubrey would’ve been a STAR we’ve been robbed.” Another proclaimed: “Not Aubrey! I’m turning off now.” Echoing their thoughts, a fifth wrote: “F***s sake Aubrey was the best one there.” A sixth penned: “Well that’s me done then.”
Aubrey found out he had gotten the boot via a letter which let him know he had been ‘murdered.’ Aubrey said: ‘I think I’ve been murdered because I’m too observant. I was a threat to The Traitors and they could see that. I say what I see, they’ve made a big mistake.
Explaining their reason for “murdering” him, Miles noted: “Aubrey watches from a distance, he’s been in the game plan since day one.” Harry then agreed: “This what we don’t want is the separate groups. I think it sends a message. I don’t think anyone expects us who are here right now to chose Aubrey,” he added. While Ash mused: “We have to take out the strongest link first.”
The Traitors airs Wednesday to Friday on BBC One at 9pm
