Two major Emmerdale stars have sensationally ‘quit’ their roles and reportedly already filmed their exit scenes.
According to The Sun, Lewis Cope and Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana – who play Nicky Milligan and Suni Sharma in the ITV Dales – have decided to part ways with Soapland. The on-screen couple are said to be leaving in summer 2024 in a “controversial” exit.
Lewis has only been in Emmerdale as Nicky since December 2022, while Brahmdeo joined as Suni in July 2023. Their characters have been through a lot in such a short time, however, with Nicky attempting to trick Gabby Thomas into marriage and both succumbing to near-fatal attacks.

But the axe of two more gay characters in Emmerdale could prove controversial after gay lawyer Ethan Anderson was killed off last month.
One source told The Sun: “It’s not going to go unnoticed that three of the village’s gay characters have been written out within a matter of weeks of each other. The optics aren’t good, especially when it’s Pride month.”
The insider added: “The fact is decisions are taken months in advance and there are lots of different factors that go into things like this. It’s very unusual for three actors with the same character profile to leave at the same time.”
Their exit storylines could be tangled up in Nicky’s mum Ruby’s recent antics, which saw her in a hit and run that eventually killed Ethan. Nicky has vowed to disown his mother after what she did, while Suni has been betrayed by his brother Jai, who drove their dad out of the village and cut Suni out of the business.
The Sun’s source claimed the characters “weren’t given a fair shot” and were “barely used” in storylines, while the actors are said to be “hungry to hone their craft” and “don’t want to be used as glorified set dressing”.
It comes after Ethan star Emile John opened up on his shock exit, telling fans: “I just want to say a huge thank you to all the cast and all the crew that I have worked with over these three years. It’s absolutely flown by. A lot of the cast have just taken me under their wing. It’s been such a ride, such a journey, and one that I’ve really learned so much on.
