Brits have chosen the sexiest dead famous person they would most like to date

Brits have chosen the sexiest dead folk they would most like to date.

A poll of 2,000 people found that among the top 10 included Cleopatra, the ruler of Egypt until 30BC, and author Charles Dickens.

Those taking part in the poll were ask to pick three ‘historical figures’ they would most like to go on a date with.

They could choose anyone from anywhere in the world over any time period, with the only condition being that they had to be ‘famous’ and ‘no longer living’.

The study by new dating app Finding The One broke down the votes – of which over 100 historical figures were chosen by the 2,000 taking part – into a final top 10 for men and for women.

They include Elvis, James Dean, William Shakespeare, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Joan of Arc.

Among the ones who didn’t quite make the top 10 for women included JFK, Mozart, Sigmund Freud and even Joseph Stalin and Winston Churchill.

And for men, the women who narrowly missed out on the top 10 included Lauren Bacall, Jayne Mansfield, and Sophia Loren.

Erika Daley, 40, of Maidstone, Kent, said she would love to go on a date with James Dean…or William Shakespeare.

She said: “James Dean is perhaps the best-looking man who ever existed, but I’d love to go out with Shakespeare.

“He’s such an incredible playwright, but he’s also obviously very romantic, so I’d really like to go on a date with him, even if it’s just to hear him speaking.”

Jim Poll, 29, of Edinburgh, said he thought Raquel Welsh was the ‘ideal woman’.

He said he’d seen the 1966 movie One Million Years B.C. – in which the actress plays a glamorous cavewoman called Loana – ‘endless times’.

He said: “Anyone who has seen Raquel Welsh in One Million Years B.C. knows what I’m talking about.

“She is the very definition of gorgeousness.”

Sylvia Linzalone, of Finding The One, said: “It’s clear we’ve all got a soft spot for timeless charm.

“James Dean’s smouldering gaze still has us weak at the knees, while Audrey Hepburn’s beauty and elegance continues to rev up our romantic engines.

“It just goes to show that in the world of dating, a touch of vintage charm can work wonders.”
