Buffy and Gossip Girl icon Michelle Trachtenberg has defended herself against worried fans that think she may be ill.
She wrote on Instagram: “Fun fact. This is my face. Not malnutrition, no problems. Why do you have [to] hate? Get a calendar.”
The feud began after the Buffy actress shared a picture of herself getting her hair done in Beverly Hills as fans flocked to share their concerns for the star. In the picture, Michelle pouted as she stretched out her arms and gazed down at the camera.

She wore her brunette hair in waves and appeared makeup free, with just a light tint of colour on her lips. The star wore a black hoodie with yellow writing, but fans were more concerned about the actress herself.
One fan commented that Michelle “looks sick” and asked if she was “okay,” as the Gossip Girl star replied: “[username] explain to me how I look sick. Did you lose a calendar and not realise I’m not 14? I’m 38. How sad for you to leave such a comment.”
Michelle once again clapped back with a selfie after getting her hair dyed with hot pink tips to compliment her fair complexion. In the caption, Trachtenberg noted that she had “received several comments recently about her appearance” and assured fans she has “never had plastic surgery”.
She went on to tell her followers she is “happy and healthy” and recommended that haters “check themselves”. However, fans responded to Michelle and told her that plastic surgery was not their concern.
One person wrote: “Nobody is talking about plastic surgery. They are talking about your liver shutting down,” although it is important to note that Michelle has not shared any medical update or clarified whether anything is wrong.
Someone else said: “I really don’t think anyone was implying you had plastic surgery. We are generally concerned about you. Your eyes are yellow, your hair is [thinning] majorly, you look sick.” Others said they are “just worried” about the actress and are “concerned about her health”.
Trachtenberg is best known for her roles in Buffy, as The Witch of the Upper East Side Georgina Sparks in 28 episodes of Gossip Girl and as host of the true-crime docuseries Meet, Marry, Murder.
