Cat Deeley admits This Morning has forced her apart from husband with bedroom confession

This Morning star Cat Deeley has admitted that her new hosting role has affected sleeping arrangements with her husband.

The TV presenter and her co-host Ben Shephard were discussing whether separate bedrooms are the secret to a happy marriage with Linda Lusardi and married couple Emma and Kevin – who opt to sleep in different rooms. Cat then revealed she sleeps in a different bed to her husband Patrick Kielty on certain nights of the week.

She said: “It’s one of those things that because of our schedule here [This Morning], from Monday to Thursday I sleep in the guest bedroom and the rest of the time I’m back. Because otherwise I get up at 5am and I want to fall asleep earlier.”

Linda responded: “Well that’s logistics, you’ve got an odd job that makes you get up early. You have to! But I do think if you can sleep together why not.”

Cat and her husband share two sons, Milo, eight, and James, five. The family moved back to the UK several months ago after previously residing in Los Angeles.

The couple decided to leave their glamorous LA lifestyle behind and return to the UK several months ago following a “terrifying” gun incident that made them reconsider their life in America. After this frightening experience, she traded her £3.8 million Beverly Hills mansion for a £4.9million fixer-upper 1950s home in Hampstead in north London.

Cat has left her long-standing role on the US show So You Think You Can Dance, where she was reportedly earning £43k per episode, to join This Morning with a reported annual salary of £550k. However, earlier this week it was revealed that ITV’s top daytime hosts are allegedly facing a pay freeze.

This is due to the channel conducting crisis talks following a drop in ratings for some of their most iconic daytime TV shows, including Good Morning Britain and This Morning. According to The Sun, production teams and staff on these shows will have their salaries frozen.

Earlier this year, Cat and Ben took over the reins of This Morning after Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby left, and they reportedly signed contracts worth £555,000. Meanwhile Susanna is said to be on a £1.1 million per year deal at Good Morning Britain.

ITV has reportedly warned that there could also be job cuts affecting both permanent staff and freelancers. The channel is also believed to be changing long-term roles within the company to three-month contracts.
