Gary Goldsmith was using a “smoke screen” when discussing Kate Middleton’s whereabouts on Celebrity Big Brother, an expert has claimed.
The uncle of The Princess of Wales was grilled about his niece in the house on Wednesday night (March 6). It was former Love Island star Ekin-Su who decided to play journalist and ask where the royal is.
Gary claimed he couldn’t say too much but insisted Kate was getting the “best care in the world”. He also stated: “She’s amazing. She’ll be back, of course she will”.

However, body language expert Darren Stanton believes Gary doesn’t actually know as much about Kate as he’s letting on and is “playing off his connections” to Kate for his own gain. The analyst reckons the businessman is “trying to cultivate a perception he’s much closer to the royals” in the house.
Speaking on behalf of Slingo, Stanton said: “When Ekin-Su asked him the question, it’s clear she’s enthralled, she’s quite mesmerised by his connections to Kate. She’s starry-eyed over the whole thing.
“In his response, Gary is using confidentiality as a bit of a smoke screen. I don’t think he actually knows the answer, or he’s trying to cultivate a perception he’s much closer to the royals than he is in order to gain kudos.”
The behavioural buff, known as “TV’s human lie detector”, said that Gary uses an interesting head motion to ‘buy time’ before responding to Ekin-Su’s prodding. He continued: “When he’s asked about Kate, he drops his head down.
“Sometimes, that can denote shame, but that’s not the case in this context. It’s almost like, ‘Here we go again’. I think he’s playing off of his connections.
“In his gestures, there’s no motion, there’s no micro expressions, it seems a bit contrived. Also, when he was asked the question by Ekin-Su, dropping his head was to buy himself some time.
“I don’t think he was being deceptive as such, but definitely elusive. I get the impression he’s not that in the loop with Kate.”

Gary said of the Princess: “Because she doesn’t want to talk about that, the last thing I’m going to do is, there’s a code of etiquette. If it’s announced, I’ll give you an opinion.”
Ekin said: “I hope she’s okay,” prompting Gary to reply: “I spoke to her mum, my sister [Carole Middleton]. She’s getting the best care in the world. All the family’s done is put the wagons around and look after family first before anything else.”
Wild rumours about the Princess of Wales have been circulating online over the last few weeks after she disappeared from the public eye. The future Queen was taken to hospital for “planned abdominal surgery” earlier this year and has been recovering from the op.
Kensington Palace announced in January that the procedure at The London Clinic in Marylebone was successful but did not go into detail about the nature of it. The royal hadn’t been seen since Christmas until Monday (March 4), when she was snapped in a car near Windsor Castle.
