Coronation Street favourite Fizz Dobbs is set to return to the famous cobbles one year after she left the ITV soap.
Loyal fans of the longest-running soap will recall that the auburn beauty (played by Jennie McAlpine) went on maternity leave and welcomed her third child with her husband Chris Farr back in April 2023. The happy couple announced the arrival of their daughter Doris with an adorable snap online.
They are also proud parents to their eight-year-old son Albert and their daughter Hilda, four. Viewers were told that the 39-year-old’s character left for Norwich last year and hasn’t been seen on the street since May.

But in upcoming scenes, her onscreen husband Tyrone (Alan Halsall) revealed his wife is attending a course in Italy and as invited him to go with her. After his grandmother Evelyn Plummer (Dame Maureen Lipman) offered to move in to No.9 to watch the kids, fans bid a sudden farewell to the hunk as he jets off to reunite with his estranged wife.

Despite learning that the pair are flying out to Italy this winter, Daily Star has quizzed one of the most popular artificially intelligent ‘creative’ tools Bard AI to see what their future holds. When asked if Jennie could return to the street, the programme revealed: “Fiz is definitely returning to Coronation Street!
“The return is expected to shake up the family dynamics, especially with Cassie still in the picture. Fiz’s arrival could also have implications for Tyrone’s relationship with Alina, the woman he was seeing while Fix was away.
“Rest assured, Fiz’s absence is temporary, and viewers can look forward to her dynamic return to the cobbles very soon!” It comes after Claire Sweeney, who plays Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Plummer, shared a lovely on-screen family snap where the mum-of-three was pictured.

She captioned the post: “So good to meet my daughter-in-law today @alanhalsall lovely Jennie McAlpine [heart emoji] Fiz.” Meanwhile, Alan, 41, wrote: “Family is the heart of the home [heart emoji]. No. 9 @coronationstreet, Jen’s back.
“So happy to be together again & back to work.” Coronation Street’s official Instagram account replied to the sweet snap adding: “Love this! Welcome back Jen [heart emoji].”
Though Jennie is filming on the famous cobbles once again, it will likely be a few more weeks before she appears on screen due to the six-week filming schedule. But it is thought that her husband may not be returning to the show with her.

It was revealed last year that Alan would be taking a break from Corrie after having a major knee operation. The actor, who was also forced to pull out of I’m A Celebrity last year, revealed back in November that he had reconstructive surgery on his ACL ligament, which had gone “really well.”
Posting a snap of his strapped-up limb on Instagram at the time, he confessed: “On Friday I underwent ACL reconstruction surgery. I have been told the surgery went really well.
“I know I have a long 9-12 moths of rehabilitation ahead of me but I’m sure with the support of family and friends I’ll get there.” At the time, a Coronation Street spokesperson said Tyrone would remain on screen for the rest of 2023 but will then disappear for a bit.
