Dancing on Ice’s Claire Sweeney wows as she transforms into Roman Goddess in racy toga

Claire Sweeney has wowed in a tiny toga whilst competing in Dancing On Ice.

The 52-year-old danced in her Roman garb with brawny partner Colin Grafton to Bonnie’s Tyler ‘Holding Out for a Hero’. Claire sported a rhinestone-encrusted silver bra, showcasing her ample chest, whilst barely covered by draped white material resembling a toga.

The Liverpool-born woman’s long blonde locks were curled and piled artfully on her head – finished off with a glittering tiara. Despite being whirled around by American dance partner Colin, Claire’s half up-do stayed mercifully intact.

The look was finished off with a slash of red lipstick, and a Hellenic-style rhinestone belt. Colin complimented Claire’s Italian look with Colosseum-friendly armour: a leather skirt, arm protection, and a blinding smile.

Claire faced a rocky start in rehearsals, as the video tape showed the actress falling over and even ripping her trousers. But, Claire didn’t let it hold her back on the night, scoring a respectable 22 after receiving 5.5 from each judge.

The Liverpool-born television personality was pulled onto the ice by two “hunky men” (according to an X user) on a chariot, fitting with the Roman theme. Viewers took to social media to share their mixed feelings about the performance.

One user wrote: “Poor Colin struggling with the lifts there and over marked #DancingOnIce” whilst another agreed: “#DancingOnIce Claire was a bit over marked there”. Another added:Was a bit slow, but was a great first routine for Claire and Colin #DancingOnIce

Other viewers pointed to Colin’s role in the dance, sharing: “She was being dragged around the ice and barely doing anything for herself. Surely I’m not the only one to see that?! #DancingOnIce”

Many praised Claire for her stunning beauty, writing praise such as: “I can not believe Claire Sweeney is 52!!! @clairesweeney you look bloody amazing! #DancingOnIce”.

Another X user shared some positive words: “Not bad at all Claire. A bit careful, looked like she was terrified to fall all the way through lol. But she wasn’t wobbly and she skated a little bit on her own too. Good start from her. ”
