Having welcomed his first child Albert with his fiancé Steph Jones in 2021, the resident cheeky chappie has faced a rather colourful romantic history, having been accused of numerous affairs and a secret tryst with his co-star’s girlfriend. Daily Star has taken a look at Danny’s love life as fans watch Aaron get up to his old tricks again.

Danny began dating Hollyoaks soap star Kirsty-Leigh Porter after the pair connected back in 2010. The TV duo began a tumultuous on-and-off again relationship that lasted five years, with rumours of Danny’s infidelity plaguing their relationship.

The blonde beauty, who plays Leela Lomax in the Channel 4 soap, is reported to have split with the actor once and for all after being unable to forgive his drunken tryst with a prostitute – something which she alluded to on Twitter. Kirsty-Leigh posted: “Last time my ex went on a bender & slept with prostitutes I dumped his ass! #CallMeOldFashioned.” Despite having reconciled several times and moved in together, Kirsty-Leigh and Danny officially ended their romance in 2016.

Co-star ‘fling’

Danny reportedly became embroiled in an Emmerdale war after allegedly sleeping with co-star Isabel Hodgins behind friend Michael Parr’s back. The ITV heartthrob hit the headlines when he enjoyed a fling with co-star Isabel despite both stars still being linked to other people. Danny was allegedly still in an on-again-off-again relationship with Hollyoaks actress Kirsty-Leigh Porter when the alleged affair took place.

Sources claim that Kirsty discovered message exchanges between Danny and Isabel – leading to the discovery of the reported tryst. Isabel, who plays the role of Victoria Sugden on the soap, had been dating Danny’s co-star Michael Parr, who plays Ross Barton in the show, since 2013.

Reports at the time suggested that the Emmerdale set had become divided after the affair came to light. A source told The Sun on Sunday at the time: “The tension between them caused arguments among the cast who split into two camps over who to support” and that Danny, who shares a dressing room with Michael, felt like an “outcast”. Isabel and Danny have since insisted they were both single when they started dating.

Fans watched Danny gush over his fiancé Steph Jones and their newborn son Albert in the I’m A Celebrity castle last year. The Manchester-born star tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart in summer 2022, with the doting dad revealing that Steph fell pregnant just as the couple were about to start IVF treatment, having previously been told they were unlikely to conceive naturally. Celebrating their engagement news on Loose Women earlier this year, Danny explained how he met the midwife, which was actually through their former primary school.

“I was already at the primary school and Steph came into primary school after about a year that I had been there. It was just… you know, any new kid coming into school when you’re that age is really kind of exciting, but then when Steph stepped in… I just kind of got on with her straight away and fancied her straight away.” The Emmerdale star told viewers that he jokingly “pestered” Steph for a year before she agreed to going on a date with him.

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
