Death in Paradise fans are in for a shock as a character is getting murdered in the Christmas special, with their actor admitting their axe was “quickly made clear” to him
Death in Paradise will be killing off a character in the Christmas special.
It comes after an EastEnders legend joined the show to replace Ralf Little. Former DI Neville Parker star Ralf quit the show last year after five years.
Fans will be shocked by a major twist in the festive special as one of the stars has revealed their character’s unfortunate fate. The BBC hit is airing a Christmas special over the holidays, featuring comedian Marcus Brigstocke as vacationer Stuart Fullwell.

However, he won’t last long as the show kicks off with a murder mystery, and it’s Marcus’ character who will die. Poor Stuart ends up shot dead on the beach while wearing a Santa outfit.
He’s discovered by a lad named Ollie, prompting the Saint Marie police squad to investigate. However, the team could be up against it as there’s no Detective Inspector to fill the shoes of the recently exited Neville Parker.
Actor and comedian Marcus Brigstocke revealed his character’s death during a chat with BBC Morning Live on Thursday (December 12). He told presenters Jacqui Joseph and Gordon Smart: “Obviously I was thrilled because I know that Death in Paradise have been looking for the new detective so when the call came I instantly called Rachel my wife and said I’m pretty sure we are going to be moving to Guadalupe for six months out of the year.”, reports the Manchester Evening News.
It seemed he wanted a long-term stint on the show but he was told his stint would be rather short. Marcus said: “It was quickly made clear to me that I was going to be killed off but I was still over the moon. It’s a beautiful, brilliant, funny and engaging show. It’s so fun to do.”
Jacqui quipped: “Hold on you said you get the chop, I hear you were singing so was it because of that.”
The room erupted in laughter when Marcus quipped back: “Well I was interested in the clip you showed but they didn’t show any of my karaoke and I don’t know for sure but my guess is that it will be released as a Christmas single.”
He added: “I doubt they would have killed me because of my singing because I think it’s going to be a big hit and I see a big shift in my career.”
