Lauren Branning tries her luck at getting a new job in next week’s EastEnders but concern surrounding her son sparks tension with the Beales.
On Monday (July 15), Lauren gets nervous as a job interview edges closer but her day starts off badly when the bailiffs arrive at her door demanding payment for an old credit debt. As her money worries leave her annoyed, Lauren is later surprised to see her son Louie football with Junior Knight, Alfie Moon and Tommy in the Square.
But her day goes from bad to worse as during a chat with Junior things gets heated when he starts to ask questions about Louie’s academic abilities and Lauren walks away. Penny Branning tries to reason with her cousin Lauren for shouting at Junior, and echoes his concern that Louie may be struggling at school.

After a chat with Kathy Beale, a tense Lauren soon softens as she receives some advice before heading to The Queen Vic to apologise to Junior. The pair share a drink, where he gives the worried mum some words of encouragement.
Later in the week, Lauren seizes an opportunity and asks Jay Brown for a trial shift at the Car Lot which he accepts. But when she discovers that Louie has been struggling at school she later comes to blows with Kathy after she wrongly assumes she is being insensitive about Louie’s diagnosis.
Junior bumps into Lauren and the pair exchange numbers when Junior suggests he put her in contact with a friend of Xavier’s about Louie.
Lauren’s boyfriend Peter Beale intercepts the interaction, but having been away from Walford for two days, Lauren is in no mood for sarcasm and storms out taking Louie with her.
Peter attempts to prove he’s there for Lauren and Louie, but she goes off in a huff when he accidentally offends her before her trial shift.
Wanting to make amends with Junior, Peter heads to The Vic where the pair share a pint before heading off to collect Louie from school.
Later in the café, Peter apologises to Lauren and asks to move in with her, but she asks for time to think.
As Junior already has a reputation with the ladies of Walford, is he after Lauren’s affection? Or will Lauren accept Peter’s offer to live as a family?
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
