EastEnders newbie Sophie Khan Levy has recalled her “pinch me moment” on the BBC One soap.
The actress plays Priya Nandra-Hart and made her debut last year. Priya and daughter Avani (Aaliyah James) rocked up to Walford as the ex-girlfriend and daughter of Ravi (Aaron Thiara).
At the time, Ravi had no idea he had a secret daughter – leaving him and the rest of his family stunned. And it didn’t take long for Priya and Avani to cause plenty of drama.

Between the Panesar family drama and her own romance troubles, her time in the square has not been short of chaos. And it appears things are set to get even more dramatic.
Recently, she sided with bad guy Nish Panesar, (Navin Chowdhry). At the time, he was feuding with his ex-wife Suki (Balvinder Sopal) and his sons Ravi and Vinny (Shiv Jalota).
Nish ended up embarking on a fling with Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) much to the shock of Priya – who often let slip sly digs. And it turns out one of actor Sophie’s “pinch-me moment” on the beloved BBC One soap involved Kat Slater.
In a new interview, actress Sophie gushed over her time on the soap so far. Speaking to Inside Soap, she said: “I started filming a week after my final audition, so I didn’t have time to think!”
As for her “b*tchy” scenes with Kat, Sophie quipped: “I’ll admit that when I was rowing with Kat Slater on Albert Square, I did have a bit of a “pinch me” moment!
“Jessie’s completely brilliant. I will say that Priya has a lot more front than I do. She certainly pushes my limit and makes me step outside my comfort zone – which is a good thing.”
On the soap this week, Priya, along with the rest of the Panesar family, were left stunned when bad guy Nish returned. And he had some big news to share with his estranged family.
Gathering everyone, including Priya, he shared that he was dying. As expected, ex-wife Suki didn’t care, nor did his children Vinny and Ravi – they even accused Nish of lying about it. But after Ravi shoved his dad, Nish was rushed to hospital.
The Panesar family all arrived at hospital where it was confirmed by a nurse that he he needed a new heart. And despite thinking he had years left to live, Nish was told it was now much short than that.
The nurse also informed him he might not survive long enough to get a transplant on the waiting list. Nish was gutted – meanwhile Suki cracked a sly smirk.
