Emmerdale fans noticed something strange as Charity visited Mackenzie after stabbing him.
Since Christmas, Charity has been suffering with trauma after killing Harry (Robert Beck) in self-defence. Her mental health has spiralled out of control in recent weeks and she began having night terrors.
The Woolpack barmaid also began having hallucinations of Harry and kept a knife next to her for protection. Last week Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) found Charity having a nightmare and attempted to wake her up.

But a terrified and confused Charity stabbed Mack believing he was attacking her. Mackenzie was rushed to hospital and Charity was arrested.
During Monday’s episode (February 27) of the ITV soap, Mack woke up in hospital while Charity had spent the night behind bars. The police arrived to question Mack about the attack, wondering if it was Charity’s way of getting back at him for cheating on her.
Mack insisted Charity didn’t intend to hurt him before Cain (Jeff Hordley) headed to the police station for news on Charity. The officer revealed that Charity was let go half an hour ago.
She then arrived at Mack’s hospital room and found him sleeping. Charity told him their relationship had reached the end of the road. A sleeping Mack called out Charity’s name before she left the hospital.
But viewers noted something odd about the encounter. Taking to X, formerly Twitter, fans questioned how Charity would be allowed to visit the man she stabbed.
One wrote: “The place is crawling with coppers and Charity just breezes in for a visit after being arrested for stabbing him?” Another agreed: “I’m sure charity would be left unattended after nearly killing the guy who is in the same hospital.”
Others wondered how Charity had been released in the first place as it’s clear she is suffering mentally. “So they let a woman who is not on planet earth in her mind, who is clearly mentally unwell with extreme ptsd go,” shared one puzzled viewer.
A second penned: “Whilst Charity may have been released from custody wouldn’t she be ‘Sectioned’ under the Mental Health Act?” Another fumed: “I can’t believe what I’m seeing here. Charity shouldn’t be on her own. Vulnerable. Rubbish ED police. Oh, great, now she’ll be left alone to do anything to herself or stab one of her kids. She needs sectioning, therapy, everything.”
