Emmerdale’s Lewis Cope has been receiving some rather risque messages from fans.
Since joining the popular soap last year, the Nicky Milligan actor has become a heartthrob and it seems some viewers are going to great lengths to get his attention. Speaking to Daily Star last year, Lewis said: “I get a lot of messages from fans on social media.
“Instagram is a bit wild. I get messages and pictures that are a bit different to what you’d expect.

“They’re not things I’d show my mum. I get everything. Some of them are topless photos. I’ve even had people say, ‘Will you marry me?’. But I don’t think it’s a proper proposal.”
Despite the attention, Lewis isn’t on the market as he’s happily in a relationship with girlfriend Rachel Maya Lopez. However, he doesn’t seem to mind the flirty messages, adding: “It’s funny. I don’t mind.
“I don’t find it irritating or anything like that, I’m not easily embarrassed. But I don’t reply to any of them.”
When it comes to meeting fans in person, Lewis says they’re usually less forward. He shared: “It’s always lovely when I get recognised. I’m always surprised when someone shouts my name and asks for photos with me. I appreciate fans who watch the show. I love it.”
Lewis also recently spoke about his close off-screen relationship with co-star Rosie Bentham, who plays his on-screen ex-fiance Gabby Thomas. His character Nicky was initially brought into the village to trick Gabby into marrying him, but eventually confessed his scheme after getting cold feet, revealing he had a boyfriend all along.
In a previous interview with Digital Spy, Lewis revealed: “I’d probably say Rosie Bentham, because from the beginning and for my first six months we’ve basically been working together every day.”
Despite their past, Lewis is optimistic that Nicky and Gabby will eventually become friends, stating: “I think they do get on. The problem is, the circumstances and the manipulation.”
Lewis also shared his close relationship with his on-screen father William Ash, who portrays Caleb Milligan, describing him as “super helpful and absolutely brilliant”. In more recent scenes, Nicky almost faced death when he was involved in a fatal car crash.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
