Emmerdale Tom King actor teases ‘there’s more to come’ as dramatic exit approaches

Emmerdale’s James Chase has revealed “there’s more to come” as the Tom King and Belle Dingle coercive control storyline concludes.

ITV chiefs have let slip that a blockbuster episode is on the horizon where Belle gathers the courage to tell the poilce about her abusive husband’s behaviour.

An hour-long special will air in December which will shine a light on the harrowing world of domestic abuse victims and cap off the saga with a bang.

It’s been 18 long months watching Tom turn from dodgy to diabolical towards Belle and actor James is “proud” of the work he’s been knocking out with co-star Eden Taylor-Draper, who plays Belle.

James gushed: “It has been an amazing storyline, it has been intense – a real rollercoaster of emotions but it’s been amazing. I’m really proud of what we have done.. Eden has been totally amazing. There is more to come.

“Shooting the scenes is always a hell of a lot of fun. Obviously there are some scenes that are very intense so I wouldn’t say fun for those ones, more rewarding. It’s good when it feels right at the time of filming then you see it back much later, all edited – that is rewarding.”

“I feel very proud of the people I’ve worked with. The scenes with the burning of the guy – and then squaring up to the Dingles was a lot of fun. It was a big moment because there were a lot of people there.”, reports Leeds Live.

“It’s been a hell of a lot of fun working with Daisy [Campbell, who plays Amelia Spencer]. She is so much fun and she brings so much energy. It’s been fun having this short storyline together.”

Emmerdale Producer Laura Shaw added: “When we first embarked on this journey we knew we wanted to show domestic abuse, coercive control and manipulation in all its guises.

“The privilege we have on a drama such as Emmerdale is being able to show the reality of a situation like Belle’s over a longer period of time to authentically reflect what so many people go through in real life on a daily basis.”

Fans will have to wait and see what happens to Tom

“We knew from the outset that Belle would need some sort of closure on Tom and we know our Emmerdale audience always look forward to our villains getting their comeuppance.”

“We don’t want to spoil the outcome of this story and reveal what will happen to Tom, but needless to say, Belle’s going to be in a much better place by this Christmas.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 at 7.30pm and available to stream from 7am on ITVX
