Fatboy Slim’s cafe has had to shut its doors after being trashed by “vile hooligans”.
The legendary 60-year-old DJ, real name Norman Cook, snapped up The Big Beach Cafe in Hove in 2013, turning it into a buzzing hotspot for locals and visitors alike.
However, disaster struck when the cafe announced on Instagram that it had been hit by mindless yobs, leaving it with a hefty bill of damages.

The Argus, a local news outlet, reported that The Big Beach Cafe couldn’t serve up its usual delights after a gang of teens lobbed paving slabs and shattered glass in what seemed like an unprovoked frenzy last Friday.
The cafe’s Insta page was flooded with CCTV snaps showing the aftermath, revealing they had couldn’t open the business as their kitchen was wrecked. One snap shows the metal shutters mangled and busted, with glass fragments littering the entrance.
The cafe’s post was a plea for help: “Sorry we are unable to open our kitchen this morning as these three vile hooligans have caused ££££ of damage to our community,” adding a call to arms for anyone with info to come forward so they can haul the culprits to court and make them cough up for the chaos they caused, reports the Mirror.
Fatboy Slim’s fans took to social media to voice their disapproval and lend him support after his cafe, which he bought from ex-wife of Paul McCartney, Heather Mills, in 2013, was vandalised. A saddened fan wrote: “So sad, that some of these ‘kids’ probably enjoyed all of the facilities and events put on by the venue, when they were younger now destroying it.”
Another chimed in, equally baffled and furious: “Looking right at the camera too. What on earth could motivate this. Angry and sad in equal measure for you! Good luck finding them,” whilst another commended the cafe for posting incriminating pictures of the vandalisers: “Well done for posting the pics…. I hope they get caught and have to deal with the consequences..”
Whilst Fatboy Slim has remained mum on the incident, his supporters added fuel to the fire on catching the vandals. One sympathised: “Sorry to see this guys, I hope they get found and brought to justice. Good luck getting everything sorted,” as another gushed about their love for the cafe team and their hope to see things rectified soon: “This is awful, I’m so sorry guys! You are such a lovely team and business. Hope you can get this sorted.”
