Glastonbury Festival being haunted by ‘ghost’ as old clip resurfaces online

Glastonbury celebrations are in full swing as the festival continues to rage on at Worthy Farm.

The festival, held in Somerset every summer, sees hundreds of thousands of fans make the trip down to watch some of the biggest musical artists perform. This year has seen pop star Dua Lipa and iconic band Coldplay headline over the weekend, with Shania Twain set to perform on Sunday evening to close out the festival (June 30).

However, an old clip has made its way back to the surface of the Internet that appeared to show a more sinister side of the festival. A group of friends seemingly caught a “ghost” in shot haunting the festivities as they enjoyed the shenanigans of the party.

A clip of then-25-year-old Georgia Beech and her friends was uploaded to the Internet during the festival in 2023. During the video, a mysterious billowing figure was seen in the background appearing to be taking in the atmosphere.

Beech and her pals were sat around a campfire at the Stone Circle shortly after 1am on Monday, June 26 2023. The night was synonymous with Elton John’s final UK performance as he bid farewell to playing live.

Georgia wanted to remember a slice of the action and emotions she felt during the festival and recorded her antics with her friends before panning to the stage and up into the sky. However, it was only when she got home and her mum saw the video that she realised there was something more nefarious behind them.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, she explained: “We thought we’d go to the Stone Circle one last time. There was a fire, music was playing, it was very atmospheric and I took the video because I wanted to capture the atmosphere.

“It wasn’t until [Tuesday, June 27] I watched it back. It was actually my mum who noticed it; she said ‘I can’t believe the video you’ve sent me’ – I didn’t know what she was talking about.”

After her mum pointed out the mysterious figure standing behind the group on the video, she said she was “shocked” to see the ghoul before it flew into the air just seconds later. “My fiancé said it could have been smoke from the fire, and some people have suggested maybe it was camera glare, but it’s not in time with the camera; the figure flies past faster than the camera moves,” she said.

“I think it was some kind of orb or spirit going past,” she clarified. “I wouldn’t say I’m a believer, but I’m not close-minded to it. But if you’d asked me before if I believed in ghosts, I would have said I don’t really know.”

Some 200,000 people were expected to be headed to Glastonbury this for the festivities. Shania Twain will play the Sunday Legends slot at the festival, while American singer-songwriter SZA will headline the final evening on the Pyramid Stage.
