GMB chaos as Adil Ray blasts trying bum-lifting pants with his ‘billiard balls’

Good Morning Britain was thrust into chaos after Adil Ray sent his fellow co-stars into fits of laughter over bum-lifting pants.

Ray, 49, returned to the hit ITV morning news show on Friday (March 15) to present the latest headlines. By his side was regular anchor Kate Garraway, 56, with Charlotte Hawkins, 48, serving as the newscaster for the day.

As the trio continued to run through the programme, it was revealed that the debate that would be had at the end of the show would be particularly peachy. A debate sprung up as to whether people should wear pants designed to enhance the size and shape of their bum, following the release of the product by supermarket chain M&S.

While initially the group had no qualms about wearing the bum-lifting pants, attention soon turned to Adil, who had described his own bum as “two billiard balls”. This sent the other hosts into a frenzy as they discussed the need for a product such as the pants.

Later on in the show, Charlotte revealed that the public were keen to see the Lingo presenter put on the pants himself to demonstrate the power of the underwear. However, Ray was having none of it, admitting: “It’s not that kind of show.”

Kate then encouraged him to at least give it a go and put the pants on over his suit trousers, quipping: “We’re not doing a John Cena moment,” to which Charlotte chipped in looking at the camera: “Well, it could be…”

Ray added: “But what’s the point in putting them on over?” Hawkins responded: “For our amusement!” while Kate more eloquent in her answer: “Well it gives us all a laugh and see if it does what it says, if it gives you a different shape – it’s science!”

Adil then threw Kate under the bus and admitted that she was the one who was originally meant to try on the tight-fit bum-lifting pants, but she couldn’t fit into the pair herself. But even as the show tried to move away from the item, Ray still had questions on how the pants worked.

“If you met somebody and they had that on and you went, ‘Ooh, nice bum!’ and you’re attracted to that,” Adil explained, “and then the reality as you get into the relationship with them and you’re just, ‘Huh?'” Charlotte and Kate contain themselves and burst into laughter as Adil continued to work himself up with his thoughts.

“Oh god yeah, imagine it’s your first time and dropping a bit of Marvin Gaye on, gonna take them and then WOAAAH, WHAT’S GOING ON HERE!?,” he screamed. Garraway, trying to recompose herself, wiped away tears as she chimed in: “This is all so escalating!” before producers pulled away from the show to go to local news stations.

Good Morning Britain airs every weekday at 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
