Home and Away star Matt Evans was once able to land a small role for his mum on the soap.
Evans, 27, who plays the loveable Theo Poulos on the Aussie soap – which airs in the UK on Channel 5 – joined the show in 2021. Serving as his first ever acting gig, he was thrilled and as such, his proud mum Sharon was buzzing for his success.
After two years, however, the bug had managed to make its way into the family, as Sharon secretly admitted that she wanted to be on the soap. Luckily for her, darling son Matt was able to pull a few strings and land her a small role.

In April of 2023, Matt uploaded a snap to his Instagram stories, featuring his mum on set. Filming the show in Sydney’s Palm Beach, his mum was seen sat down at a table wearing a pair of sunglasses, whilst another girl held an umbrella over her.
Being caught papped reading a book, Sharon seemed concentrated in the snap that Matt took of his doting mother. Captioning the pic, he penned: “Mum made it on set as an extra today,” before tagging pal Holly Mather, who had been holding up the umbrella.
A second snap from the shoot came once cameras had stopped rolling as mother and son had a warm embrace as the sun began to set on the picturesque beaches of Summer Bay. Matt was dressed in a red Coca-Cola T-shirt and black-and-white canvas trainers, whilst mum Sharon donned a loose, black top with patterned baggy trousers and a pair of white trainers.
Writing in the caption, “Summer Bay…”, both Matt and Sharon were able to beam to the camera with smiles as they watched the waves crash onto the beach. The pair also tucked into a small takeaway cup of coffee each as they wrapped up on shooting for the day.
The recent lookback comes as Theo appears to be tempted by newcomer Valerie Beaumont. In scenes that have left fans screaming at the TV, Poulos is drawn to the baddie as she offers him a pill, which sends his life down a dark turn.
With Valerie telling Theo that the pills help her to relax, a stressed Theo tries the pill out, marking the beginning of a dangerous and dark storyline for the character. It comes as Kirby tells Theo that their band Lyrik has been booked for a huge opportunity to promote themselves through a number of media interviews.
But as Kirby notices that Theo has been away and partying non-stop, she questions whether he is even fit for it. However, a controlling Valerie steps in and dismisses Kirby’s concerns, insisting that Theo will be okay.
Kirby relents, but secretly goes to Justin Morgan to tell all, believing Valerie to be a bad influence on Theo. With Valerie starting to pull Theo’s strings and isolating him from his friends, is this the beginning of Theo’s downfall?
