Noel Gallagher is best known for being one half of the Mancunian band Oasis, who shot to fame back in the 1990s.
Having reached the heights of the charts with tracks like “Wonderwall”, “Don’t Look Back in Anger” and “Champagne Supernova”, Oasis’ music defined a generation of rock fans and changed British music forever. However, the story would not end well as brothers Liam and Noel would have a huge falling out and have notoriously not spoken to each other since.
During the height of their fame, both Noel and Liam were known for their reckless shenanigans, both in terms of partying, drinking and performing. And, it seems, dating was also particularly chaotic for Noel, who has been through a string of women in his life.

So, as Noel opens up on his newest romance after divorcing Sara MacDonald, Daily Star looks back at Noel Gallagher’s love life.
New flame
The Oasis icon has recently fallen in love once again with high society events planner Sally Mash. His new love interest runs one of the swankiest private members’ clubs in London.
Last month, Noel opened up about his new relationship for the first time and claimed he was “punching above his weight” with his new woman.
Early beginnings
Noel’s early relationships were incredibly intense to begin with. At the age of just 18, Gallagher got into an intense relationship with his then-girlfriend Diane.
The had gotten engaged during their fledging relationship, but things eventually broke down and the pair were never officially married. Things would continue into the 1990s, when just three years later he moved in with beau Louise Jones.
Jones became the inspiration behind one of Oasis’ biggest smashes Slide Away. However, after a turbulent on-and-off relationship, the pair eventually decided to cut ties and broke up in 1994.
Flatmates to wife
Gallagher met his first wife, Meg Matthews, in 1994. At the time, Noel had been dating MTV presenter Rebecca de Ruvo, and Meg was Rebecca’s flatmate.
However, despite their relationship, this did not stop Noel from falling for former music exec Meg and the pair got together rather quickly, become well-known party animals. After three years of dating, the pair would eventually get hitched in Las Vegas, with the likes of Kate Moss attending the ceremony.
The pair welcomed daughter Anais into the world in 2000, but the pair would eventually grow tired of each other and separate. Come 2001, the final details of the divorce were agreed on and the pair have not stayed in touch since.
Long-term lover
It was at this time that Noel met their second wife Sara MacDonald at a club in Ibiza back in 2000. The pair had an instant connection and immediately began dating soon after, with Noel penning his 2008 song “Waiting for the Rapture” about their meeting.
The pair recalled how their first proper date came at the Lanesborough Hotel in central London, before he eventually popped the question in 2011. The pair ended up getting married that same year, and they brought two extra children into the world.
However, cracks would begin to show in their relationship and in January 2023, the pair confirmed that they would be divorcing. Looking back on things, Gallagher said in a statement following the news break: “When you get to your mid-50s you do come to some kind of crossroads in your life, it’s not uncommon for people who have been in long-term relationships to go their separate ways in their 50s.”
