ITV Coronation Street’s Todd to ‘feel compelled’ to fulfil Paul’s final wish, AI claims

Coronation Street’s Todd Grimshaw “likely” to help Paul Foreman follow through with his final wish, AI has claimed.

Over the past 12 months, ITV fans have been following the fan-favourite’s emotional decline from his terminal illness, motor neuron disease. The hunk has slowly lost the ability of his legs as his condition deteriorates, with the star (played by Peter Ash) now starting to lose the ability to speak.

But it hasn’t been all doom and gloom for Paul, who finally tied the knot with his new husband Billy Mayhew back in October. As his condition continues to decline, the pair have enlisted the help of a professional carer named Moses as he enters the final years of his life.

In recent episodes, fans have seen Paul battle with the idea of ending his life before he loses all of his independence – but he can’t do it alone. The newlywed turned to his best friend Todd to ask for his help in carrying out his final act.

At the time, the funeral director refused to help him, leaving Paul to seek other options. With his future looking bleak, Daily Star has quizzed one of the world’s most popular artificially intelligent ‘creative’ tools Bard AI to see what Paul’s future holds.

When asked if Todd will change his mind, the program suggested three reasons why Todd may change his mind. The first was the pair’s emotional bond and close friendship.

It explained: “Despite their complicated history, Todd genuinely cares about Paul and may feel compelled to assist him in his final wishes. Their recent scenes exploring reconciliation could pave the way for Todd’s emotional support.”

Another reason behind Todd possibly assisting him is the opportunity for character growth. It went on: “This storyline could be an opportunity for Todd’s character development, showcasing a more compassionate and selfless side as he seeks to comfort Paul in his final days.”

The final reason behind his change of mind could be the response from the public. Bard AI pointed out: “From a storytelling perspective, Todd’s involvement could generate significant drama and raise complex ethical questions, keeping viewers engaged.”

But the artificially intelligent program went on to suggest one reason why the funeral director won’t help him assist his death. It pointed out the legal and ethical repercussions Todd could face if he agreed to help Paul end his life.

It explained: “Actively assisting someone in ending their life is illegal in the UK. Coronation Street may be hesitant to portray Todd directly involved in such an act due to legal and ethical considerations.”

The system went on to suggest other ways that Todd could help support Paul in other ways. It suggested: “Todd could provide Paul with emotional support and companionship through his illness, without necessarily engaging in any illegal or controversial activities.”
