ITV viewers have slammed the broadcaster as “hypocrites” after bosses flew Andi Peters to Dubai to host a segment.
Peters, 53, joined both Good Morning Britain and Lorraine on Tuesday (January 9) as he promoted an ITV-wide competition to win £124,000. In the segments, Andi could be seen in the Emirati city’s iconic Palm complex, a manmade spit of land that hosts 4,000 exclusive villas.
Andi first was seen on Good Morning Britain, where he could be seen sunning himself on the beach as he promoted the competition. Later on in the show, Andi was sat at a table tucking into a luxurious breakfast whilst basking in 25-degree heat.

Speaking about the possibilities, Andi quipped: “What would you do with the money? Have a lovely trip, book yourself on a nice flight – that’s what I did if I had £124,000, get yourself to the other side of the world – and why wouldn’t you?”
Later in the day, Peters returned to screens as he appeared on Lorraine Kelly’s morning show – again in the Palm complex. During the segment, he could be spotted sipping a cocktail whilst sitting on a swing on a beach basking in the winter sun, pushing the competition as usual.
Andi has been in Dubai all week, first appearing on GMB on Monday (January 8) to promote the competition. During Monday’s edition of the show, Peters was seen at the tallest building in the world located in the desert city, the Burj Khalifa.
But viewers watching the show have blasted ITV for flying Andi out to Dubai to host the competition segment, with many branding the station “hypocrites” as weather presenter Laura Tobin regularly highlights the growing impact of climate change.
Taking to social media, many fans of the shows vented their frustrations, with one viewer writing: “Andi Peters has the best job on TV: competition plugger. He’s been in Dubai for the last two days, and all he does is talk up a competition where you can win 100 grand, takes about four mins out of his day.”
A second user hit out at the station as they pointed out the double standards. “GMB lecturing us about global warming and the environment; this is the same GMB that flies Andi Peters around the world for a 30 second skit to camera.”
While a third fan quipped: “Still joking with Andi Peters flying around the world for a 30 second slot, hypocrisy at its very worst.” And a fourth account added: “Why does Andi Peters have to go to Dubai to tell the viewers about a competition? Climate change – listen to Laura Tobin!”
Good Morning Britain airs every weekday at 6am on ITV1 and ITVX.
