ITV’s The Fortune Hotel winner reveals how she will spend winnings to ‘help somebody’

The Fortune Hotel champion Jo-Anne Padley is set to use her winnings to help the clinic that saved her life.

The mum was diagnosed with skin cancer nine years ago but survived after having treatment at the lymphoedema department in Retford Hospital near Sheffield. Now she’s going to buy a lymphatic drainage machine to help patients there.

She said: “I want to buy the machine for the department. They have a waiting list, so people often wait a while to get to use one.

“So if I get them one, I’m hoping it can help somebody.”

Jo-Anne is still being treated for lymphoedema now and uses a machine daily. She added: “I’ll have this for life. It’s difficult, but the machine really helps me.”

Jo-Anne won The Fortune Hotel alongside son Will Lloyd –netting a whopping £210,000. The pair plan to donate cash to a food bank and help relatives. Jo-Anne said: “I’m going to pay my mortgage off and my daughter is desperate to have a new bathroom. And I’ll get myself a new handbag!”

They also gave rivals Samm and Aysha Komorah £5,000. Will said: “We knew they hadn’t been able to go on honeymoon. And they’ve got loads of kids.

“So we thought it would be a nice thing to give them some money. They deserved it.”
