Jason Momoa’s wife Lisa Bonet has filed for divorce from the star after years of separation.
In court documents acquired by TMZ, the pair listed their separation as first taking place in October 2020. But now Lisa is looking to make things more official and end their marriage – along with filing for custody of the pair’s two children, Lola and Nakoa-Wolf.
Neither of the couple have asked for spousal support in the divorce proceedings, after around three years of being happily married. The pair reportedly had a pre-nup in place, with their private assets already “agreed between the parties”.

An insider claimed at the time of their spit: “Jason is very focused on his career and wants to work. He has found success and it’s driving him and is very fulfilling. Lisa wants to be in LA and is not interested in going on location for long periods of time with him.”

Insiders claimed that while the pair still “care deeply about each other”, they “drifted apart and wanted different things”. As for the couple themselves, they shared a joint statement on social media when news of the split broke.
The couple penned: “We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring. And so we share our family news that we are parting ways in marriage.”
Lisa told her friend Marisa Tomei for Interview Magazine that after the break-up she was “definitely learning how to be authentically me, learning to be new, and following this invitation from the universe to step into this river of uncertainty.”

The Cosby Show star has been married once before, to Lenny Kravitz from 1987 until 1993. The pair welcomed daughter Zoë Kravitz together, who went on to have a superhero career of her own when starring in X-Men: First Class.
But for Jason, the nuptials mark his first and only marriage. He has been engaged before, however, meeting his ex-fiancée Simmone Jade Mackinnon on the set of Baywatch back in 1999. The pair remained together for six years, but their engagement was cut off when Momoa met Bonet.

He had fallen for her as soon as she appeared on The Cosby Show, when Jason was only eight years old. He joked to James Corden in 2017: “I was like, ‘Mommy, I want that one’.” He branded her his “childhood crush” before meeting her at a jazz club in 2005.
Bonet impressed Momoa by ordering a Guinness, with him admitting to Men’s Health: “Oh, my God. I can’t believe I’m with a woman who ordered a Guinness. I love her.”
