Jeremy Clarkson sparks outrage after burning ‘Donald Trump effigy’ at his pub

Jeremy Clarkson has caused quite the stir online.

The former Top Gear host set ablaze an effigy that appeared to represent Donald Trump, much to the shock of his fans. The host of “Clarkson’s Farm”, aged 64, posted a photo to his social media showing a dummy bearing an uncanny resemblance to Trump going up in flames at his Oxfordshire pub, The Farmer’s Dog.

The effigy donned a classic suit and red tie as it cracked and popped amidst the fierce flames. Jeremy captioned the post: “Bonfire night at @thefarmersdogpub.” He then pointed out on instagram it wasn’t the leader of the free world and was a simple Guy Fawkes instead.

He uploaded the fiery picture just hours before news broke out that the ex-Celebrity Apprentice boss had won against Democrat Kamala Harris and claimed the title of the 47th president of the United States.

However, Clarkson was met with criticism on social platforms from people condemning his actions. Disappointed followers voiced their concerns, with one commenting: “Extremely disappointed. At this point Clarkson has clearly lost it. This is absolutely rubbish and astonishing.”

Another said, spurred by his post: “Anyway… looking forward to voting for TRUMP today! Thought you supported the working class. We support Trump,” reports the Mirror. Yet another added: “Wild thing about this is that Trump actually supports farmers. Sigh, this is disappointing.”

Other celebrities didn’t hold back in expressing their opinions on the outcome of the US election either. Amongst the outspoken was Riverdale’s Lili Reinhart who headed to X/Twitter to share her solidarity with the women who’ve made sexual misconduct allegations against the former reality TV star.

She penned: “I cannot fathom the feeling of the women who came forward about their sexual assault at the hands of Trump. Seeing millions of people vote for their abuser. My heart absolutely breaks for these women. I believe you, and I am so sorry.”

When a Donald Trump supporter told her to “stay out of politics”, she hit back with a fiery retort, saying: “Suck my d**k.”
