Joe Swash shares foster parent plan update with Stacey Solomon after ‘scary’ realisation

Joe Swash revealed he and Stacey Solomon are considering fostering a child after a ‘scary’ realisation.

The TV star, 42, has explained that he and his Tap To Tidy wife, are “definitely interested” in the idea of taking on the role of becoming foster parents. It hits home for the actor after his own mum, Kiffy, has provided foster children with a loving home for over a decade now.

In more recent times, Joe stepped up as the first-ever ambassador for Comfort Cases – a charity dedicated to supporting kids in foster care system across England and Wales. The ex-EastEnders star went on to share details of his tight-knit relationship with his own foster brother, Daniel.

Daniel, became part of their family at the tender age of seven. Joe and his wife Stacey have been deeply moved by his story and the thought about what could’ve been for Daniel, if Kiffy hadn’t welcomed him into their lives.

Joe and Stacey are seriously contemplating taking on the role of foster parents

Stacey and Joe are seriously considering how they could potentially change the life of another youngster. Especially when thinking about how Joe’s mum has made such a difference to Daniel’s life.

Joe told the Express: “It would definitely be of interest to both Stacey and I [to become foster parents], as we have seen the difference my mum has made to little Daniel’s life and the young man he is growing up to be.”

He added: “And it truly scares us to think what could’ve happened if my mum had never met him; and the difference it would’ve made to his life.”

On top of that, Joe’s keen to shine a spotlight on how crucial fostering is through his new gig as an ambassador. “Kids in the care system has always been something at the forefront of my family, with my mum being a foster carer, ” he said.

The star added: “Seeing the difference that love, attention, and stability can make to a child as a result of foster care is amazing. As the ambassador for Comfort Cases UK, I would like to think I’d bring some attention to this subject and get a conversation going.

“My family and my mum are really happy about my new role at Comfort Cases UK.”

He went on to hail his mum, Kiffy: “It’s something very important to our family, and I know my mum will be proud, but really, my sisters and I are proud of her and all the tremendous work she’s done.”
