Katie Price ‘tried to end her life in toilet’ as she battled bankruptcy and marriage woes

Katie Price once tried to end her own life by hanging herself in a toilet.

The Page 3 legend wanted to end it all after hitting rock bottom in 2018. Traumas including the death of her pets, bankruptcy proceedings, marriage trouble and kidnap threats left the reality TV star feeling like her life wasn’t worth living.

Recalling the moment she tried to end it all, she said: “I was in my toilet […] I didn’t want to be here. No one knew, I was on my own. […] I just remember feeling my face get hot, as if it was going to pop.”

Price then fell unconscious and when she woke up, her “face was all covered in bruises” and her “phone was in the toilet”. She explained: “I was like, ‘What the f***? I need to get help’. I survived.”

At the time, Katie was struggling with her mental health but the former I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! Star was scared to get help. She admitted: “I was really bad. Nobody knew. I was bad, really horrifically bad.”

“I didn’t know who to talk to. I was like: ‘If I say something, no one will want to work with me because they’ll think I’m losing the plot,’ but inside I was like: ‘I need help’. That’s when things get worse and worse and worse.”

Katie talks about her struggles in her latest autobiography This Is Me, which is published today. In the book, the starlet opens about about being diagnosed with PTSD and ADHD. Since her suicide attempt, Katie has taken action and sought out help for her mental health.

The mum-of-five now has regular therapy sessions in a bid to tackle her demons.

She said: “I’ve got good support. The key to it is communication. Anyone out there, if you ever get in that moment where you put on a face but inside you’re like: ‘I can’t do this,’ you need to tell someone.”

Pricey urged her fans to “never be ashamed” as looking for support is “what helped her” and made her “a completely different person now.”
