Liam Payne’s followers are convinced his ‘spooky’ final Instagram post is laced with a tragic hidden message.
The former One Direction star left fans devastated last week after plummeting from the third-floor suite of his hotel in Argentina at the age of 31. Since the heartbreaking news of his passing, Directioners worldwide have been honouring the singer, and they’ve now unearthed a touching element in his last-ever photo.
Just before his untimely death, Liam took to Instagram to post a picture featuring the One Direction lads alongside American filmmaker Morgan Spurlock. In a nod to the late Supersize Me legend, who passed away in May, Liam penned: “Rest in peace Morgan Spurlock, it was a pleasure working with you.”
Morgan had famously helmed the band’s behind-the-scenes 3D documentary, One Direction: This Is Us, shadowing the pop sensations for half a year.
Fans were quick to comment on Liam’s upload, highlighting that both he and Morgan were positioned together in the image, with one fan posting: “The fact that his last post is with One Direction, but he’s separated from the other four by Morgan, that also left us this year…I know it’s just a coincidence, but it’s foreshadowing.”
Another chimed in with: “True, its kind of creepy. God, I wish this didn’t happen” while yet another added: “I noticed that too.”
A fourth fan speculated: “It’s like he knew.”
Devastated fans worldwide are still reeling from the shock of Liam’s untimely passing, with his death occurring over a week ago.
Tragedy struck when Liam plummeted 49ft from a balcony in Buenos Aires during a getaway with his partner Kate Cassidy. Alberto Crescenti, who leads the emergency medical services in the state, verified that the artist met his end after falling into an inner patio of the CasaSur Palermo Hotel.
Chatting to Todo Noticias TV channel in Argentina last week, Crescenti disclosed: “A few minutes later [an] emergency team arrived and confirmed the death of this man who we later learned was from a musical group. He had injuries incompatible with life as a result of his fall. There was no way to do anything.”
In the wake of the tragedy, Liam’s dad Geoff, aged 66, jetted off to Argentina last Friday to handle the repatriation of his son’s remains, yet it remains unclear when he’ll be back on British soil for the final farewell.
