Linda Robson has addressed speculation of a rumoured “feud” with her former co-star.
The Loose Women panellist and her long-time friend and ex Birds of a Feather co-star, Pauline Quirke, have been friends for over 50 years. However, there were reports of a fallout after Pauline left the TV show.
Years since the series came to a close, Linda has finally opened up on their friendship and insisted that they’ve remained close friends.

Speaking to Mail+, she reminisced about their childhood games and shared experiences in drama club, leading up to their success with Birds of a Feather in the 1980s.
The show was as popular as Only Fools and Horses, attracting millions of viewers per episode. After a hiatus of more than two decades, ITV commissioned a Christmas episode in 2020. However, Pauline chose not to return, a decision that Linda admits upset her but did not damage their friendship.
Linda shared: “I’m not going to lie and say Lesley and I weren’t disappointed. Of course we were. We were gutted and we couldn’t imagine going on without her. We were a trio how could it possibly work without any one of us? But at the same time as all that sadness, there was acceptance and understanding, too.”
She admitted however, that she had a feeling it was coming. Linda said after their many years of friendship she was able to get a sense of what her close friend was thinking.
At the time, Pauline said: “‘I don’t want to act any more. It’s not Birds Of A Feather itself, it’s everything. I feel like I’m done with it. I feel bad for you two, but you can go on without me’.”
Linda was firm in her belief that her bond with Pauline would outlast any TV show, as they had supported each other “for each other through thick and thin and for every single major life event.” In 2022, the duo quashed any rumours of a fallout by having lunch with their Birds of a Feather co-star Lesley Joseph in Central London.
Linda shared: “We had our photo taken together and I got my daughter Roberta to upload it to my Instagram, captioning it: ‘A lovely lunch with my beautiful friends.’ It was our way of saying, ‘There you go, that’ll shut you up!'”
