Lisa Armstrong ‘supports Giovanni Pernice’ in cryptic posts after ‘abuse’ claims

Lisa Armstrong’s cryptic social media posts about “facing silent battles” are written in support of Giovanni Pernice, sources have claimed.

The 47-year-old Strictly makeup artist has posted a series of Instagram stories in which she spoke about “celebrating your strength” and that “behavior never lies.” Some may have thought it was a response to ex-husband Ant McPartlin, 33, welcoming his first child with wife Anne-Marie.

But inside sources say she was actually defending Giovanni in a subtle way. One told the Mirror: “Lisa is close to Giovanni and couldn’t help but speak up – albeit in a very cryptic way.

“It mattered to her that she didn’t just sit there and say nothing amid the firestorm he is going through at the moment. She is a very loyal person and to look the other way really isn’t in her nature.”

Lisa posted a picture on her Instagram stories last Tuesday (May 14) with the words: “Be proud of the way you’ve been handling the past few months, the silent battles you’ve fought, the moments you had to humble yourself, the times you’ve wiped your own tears. Celebrate your strength.”

And on Tuesday she posted a quote from Winston Churchill, writing: “I no longer listen to what people say, I watch what they do. Behavior never lies.”g

Strictly Come Dancing’s Giovanni Pernice has been hit with a series of claims regarding his allegedly harsh teaching style with previous celebrity partners. These include Amanda Abbington, who quit the show last year due to “medical issues.”, reports the Mirror.

She is among three ex-contestants reportedly taking legal action following his behaviour on the show. BBC bosses are reviewing nine years’ worth of training footage featuring the Italian dancer.

Gio is facing claims about his behaviour on Strictly

Pernice issued a statement via Instagram earlier this week. He said: “To my dear fans, you will be as surprised as I am that allegations have been made about my dance teaching methods in the media this week. Of course, I reject any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour, and I look forward to clearing my name.”

The post was liked by his long-time friend Lisa. It further suggests her support for the Italian hunk.
