TV titan Lorraine Kelly had to apologise to viewers of her ITV daytime show when she had to halt her showbiz segment, because a loud noise was going off in the studio
Lorraine Kelly was forced to apologise when her ITV show was interrupted by a noisy phone.
The ITV star was discussing the latest TV news on her daytime show with showbiz reporter Rishi Davda, including Holly Willoughby’s new Netflix project with Bear Grylls. But the segment had to be halted when a phone went off in the background.
The first ping was ignored as Rishi continued to spill details on the stars rumoured to join Holly and Bear’s adventure show, Celebrity Bear Hunt. She suggested names like Strictly head judge Shirley Ballas could do the programme.

She said: “Strictly’s Shirley Ballas potentially, Mel B and also Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas,”. But the phone sounds just kept on coming and eventually the segment had to be halted.

The text-like alert went off three times, and it turns out Lorraine herself was the culprit. She rummaged around in her pocket for her mobile phone switched it to silent.
Lorraine apologised to viewers for the interruption: “Sorry my phone’s pinging and it’s me.” She joked it was A-lister George Clooney hitting up her phone during the show.
Lorraine said: “Oh look it’s George Clooney again, I’ve told him ‘George, don’t bother me when I’m at work’.” Rishi quipped back: “Is he running late again for today’s episode? “.
Lorraine retorted: “He says I watch it on catch up,” and then offered another apology to the audience: “Sorry about that.”
Elsewhere in the programme, Lorraine Kelly temporarily disappeared from her spot to appear on This Morning, where Ben Shephard was marking his 50th birthday with a glass of fizz, joined by his colleague Cat Deeley.
Keen to extend her best wishes for Ben’s birthday, Lorraine gave Ben a sweet and nostalgic gift – a cushion featuring a throwback photo of the pair. Ben couldn’t help grinning as Lorraine wished him a happy “21st birthday”.
Ben joked he was “now old enough to go on a Saga Cruise holiday” with his ITV pal, only to add that he’d prefer an 18-30s getaway. Lorraine replied: “I don’t think so, you’d never get away with it.”
