Lottie Moss rushed to hospital with Ozempic overdose despite weighing 9st

Lottie Moss has been rushed to hospital after overdosing on Ozempic.

The adult star and Celebs Go Dating fave, 26, was rushed to the emergency department of a local hospital after suffering a seizure due to the drug. She admitted that she had taken a high dosage of the medicine, which then caused her to become extremely unwell.

Reality TV star Lottie, who is also the half-sister of supermodel Kate Moss, admitted she had been taking the medication – which is not designed for weight loss but to treat those with type-2 diabetes – for two weeks. Now, after recovering and leaving the hospital, Lottie is urging those to check if it is worth the health struggle.

Speaking on the latest instalment of her Dream On podcast, the adult film icon shared her harrowing story as a cautionary tale for those looking for a quick weight loss fix. In the interview, she said that she had no real knowledge of the correct dosage for her size, which she wished she knew before administering the drug.

She recalled the scary experience of having the seizure, which medics have put down to severe dehydration, saying that her hands and face were being squeezed to painful degrees. She was later told that the dosage she had been giving herself was equivalent to someone who would be weighing 100lbs, whereas she is in the “50s range” – equivalent to just 9 stone.

On top of the seizures, Lottie said she suffered a slew of other bad symptoms including vomiting and losing colour in her face. She also had her weight drastically drop, in a way that medical professionals had urged against when using the pharmaceutical.

Opening up on the experience, Lottie said: “A few months ago, I was not feeling happy about my weight and I had a friend, and she could get it for me. It was below board, from a doctor, but it wasn’t like you go into a doctor’s office and he prescribes it for you, takes your blood pressure, and takes tests, which is what you need when you go on something like Ozempic.”

Lottie added that she did not know any of the fine print before she began using the medication. Looking back at the experience, she said it was “the worst decision she ever made”.

She went on to say that if she had the chance, she would rather “die” than have Ozempic again, as it made her feel horrifically nauseous. Before signing off, she said: “This is a warning to everyone; please, if you’re thinking of taking it, do not take it, it’s so not worth it.”

A spokesperson for Ozempic told Daily Star: “We understand and empathise with the health challenges this patient has faced. While we cannot comment on this particular incident, the safety and wellbeing of patients taking our medicines is our top priority.

We care deeply about the safety and wellbeing of patients who take our medicines and strongly recommend that all patients stay in close contact with their healthcare professional for proper diagnosis, ongoing guidance, and careful monitoring.

“It is important to note that Ozempic (semaglutide injection) is a prescription-only medicine, meaning that it must be prescribed by a healthcare professional under strict supervision. Patients must make any decisions about treatment together with their healthcare professional so that their doctor can assess whether it is appropriate to prescribe the medicine or not, based on their assessment of the patient’s individual medical profile. Accessing prescription-only medicines without a valid prescription or without the care of a healthcare professional can pose a direct danger to health.

“We are working closely with the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency to continuously monitor the safety profile of our medicines. Novo Nordisk has reported this case to our safety team who will follow up in line with our procedures for safety reporting.”

Lottie is not the only person to have warned against the use of unprescribed Ozempic due to bad reactions. Other stars including Stephen Fry have spoken out against the drug, saying it caused them more harm than good.
