MAFS UK bride breaks silence on early exit after saying she ‘won’t return’

Married at First Sight UK has seen chaos and commotion after just one week of episodes.

The new series of the binge-worthy E4 dating show kicked off on Monday (September 16), with 16 new hopefuls hoping to find love at the altar. With four episodes aired, however, the couples have already been pushed to the limit.

And for one couple, it proved to be too much as Eve Reid and Charlie Curtis appeared to call it quits after what was meant to be a romantic honeymoon. The girls had been paired by relationship experts, who were hoping to match each other’s vibe, but as they went on, the couple realised they were not that compatible.

Things did not get any better when they jetted off to Mexico for a luxurious honeymoon getaway. It was here where the couple bickered and argued incessantly, which then resulted in Charlie calling it quits and saying she was leaving the show.

Following the show’s airing, Charlie has now come out and broken her silence following her short stint on the show. Taking to her Instagram, she shared some snaps of her time on her honeymoon, but was able to get a quick dig at her now-ex wife.

Writing in the caption, she penned: “On the plus side, Mexico was beautiful, every cloud and all that,” followed by a crying-with-laugher emoji. And following the episode, fans had made it clear they were taking her side over Eve’s.

“Omg please tell her to do one!” fumed one user. “You can do soo much better than someone who can’t handle talking or emotions!!”

A second user agreed, writing: “Your missus was out of order imo. Sleeping in a separate bed three nights in a row – on honeymoon? Nah.”

Whilst a third paid tribute to the now-departed MAFS star, saying: “You are my favourite, love that you don’t back down on your feelings. Last night was hard to watch,” followed by a kiss.

Tensions eventually boiled over on Wednesday night’s show (September 18), when the pair got stuck in another awkward row during what was meant to be a relaxing getaway. Both Charlie and Eve had been butting heads after Eve refused to sleep in the same bed as Charlie, despite admissions the couple had been getting frisky during the course of the show.

But things eventually reached their peak when Charlie got frustrated that Eve would “shut down” her emotions, and refuse to address issues they had. Eve then proceeded to walk away for the third time, which caused Charlie to lash out at Eve for refusing to confront the problems head on.

Eve hit back saying that she “took herself out of the situation”, to which Charlie clapped back saying: “You don’t respect anything I say or do!” As Eve continued to storm off, Charlie decided enough was enough and declared she would be leaving the experiment, leaving tense viewers shocked.

With the episode drawing to a close, it is currently unknown if the couple will be able to patch up their differences or leave things. Eagle-eyed fans, however, have spotted neither Eve nor Charlie on each other’s Instagram profiles, leading many to believe the divorce went through.

Married at First Sight airs every Monday to Thursday at 9pm on E4.
