Minibike gang suspects ‘attack 90210’s Ian Ziering’ during brawl on Hollywood street

Two minibike “gang” members have been arrested following a brawl on a Hollywood street with 90210’s Ian Ziering.

The 60-year-old actor and his 12-year-old daughter Mia were confronted by a gang of mini-bikers on Hollywood Boulevard five months ago. During the incident Ziering exited his vehicle, which saw the situation escalate into a scrap in the busy road in broad daylight.

Los Angeles cops confirmed on Tuesday evening that they had arrested Jacob Esteban Hernandez, 20, and Angie Teresa Guizar, 40. Hernandez, from Rosemead, was booked for felony vandalism, and Guizar, from Los Angeles, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, TMZ reported.

There’s lots of quality news coming out of the US.

Authorities allegedly used videos of the incident, which occurred on New Year’s Eve in 2023, as crucial evidence in the investigation.

However, none of the footage directly helped them identify the suspects.

LAPD investigators reported the fight happened at 3pm on December 31 in the 6800 block of Hollywood Boulevard while Ziering and his daughter were stuck in traffic.

“The confrontation began between the victim and one of the minibike riders over possible damage to his vehicle,” the LAPD statement said.

“Three to four additional minibike riders jumped in and assaulted the motorist.”

Following the arrests, the case will be sent to the District Attorney’s office to determine if charges will be filed.

The day after the incident, Ziering took to Instagram to share his take on the attack to his fans. “Yesterday, I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes,” he wrote.

“While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation.

“In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself.”

Ziering added he and his daughter were not harmed, but expressed concern about the increasing audacity of these groups.

He added the altercation emphasised a broader concern of street “hooliganism” and the necessity for efficient law enforcement measures to address such conduct.

“I have always been an advocate for standing up against intimidation and misconduct, and this incident reinforces my belief in the importance of personal and community safety,” Ziering continued in the Instagram caption.
