With the help of two of her friends, Jess and Mina, the women are able to attain some success. But as the pressure increases, Sam has to ensure that she doesn’t get caught.

Sharing their thoughts on the series, fans headed over to X formerly known as Twitter. One viewer said: “Just finished episode 5 of #CleaningUp on Netflix and my nerves are gone for the final ep. I know it would send the wrong message, but I really, really want this woman to ride off into the sunset absolutely loaded!!!”

Another echoed: “I finished #cleaningup on Netflix. It put my anxiety through the roof! Very far-fetched, but enjoyable in a weird way.”

A third shared: “Two episodes left of #cleaningup #netflix and omg it’s putting my anxiety through the roof for her. Gambling is a mug’s game”

While a fourth added: “I just watched #CleaningUp on #Netflix. First 4 episodes in one sitting and then the final 2 episodes the next day. I only had that pause because I had to go to work. It was SO good! And I realise that I love nearly everything @Sheridansmith1 is in. She’s such a good actress.”

Writer of Cleaning Up Mark Marlow told Digital Spy how he came up with the idea. He said: “I was searching for an idea and I was lying on the sofa one day where I was watching Wall Street with my wife Holly and there was a scene where Charlie Sheen has been given the task of finding some inside information by Gordon Gekko.

“I just happened to notice in the background there was some cleaners. And I just instantly thought, ‘If they work in that office, surrounded by inside information, why couldn’t they just do that?'”
