Peter Andre has said that he “thought he was going to die” in a new health update.
The former singer, 51, opened up about his experiences of panic attacks, giving some stern advice to those looking to help people having one. This is not the first time that Peter has spoken candidly about his mental health and urged people to help others as quickly as possible.
In a video released by mental health search engine JAAQ, Katie Price’s ex-husband gave his take on his experiences. He also gave harrowing details of the trauma that panic attacks carry and what can be done to alleviate this.

Speaking directly to the camera in the post, which was uploaded to Instagram, Peter said: “You literally feel like you’re going to die. A panic attack, the way I used to describe it was thinking I’m going to die.
“Your heart’s beating fast and your palms get sweaty and you get this brain fog,” he continued. “You don’t know what’s going to happen and you think you can’t get out of this, ‘No one will understand, please call me an ambulance.'”
Andre also said that people going through panic attacks get in their head and believe that “everyone around you is going to think that you’re crazy”. However, he was quick to dispel this claim, as he reassured the audience that this is a “completely normal way to feel.”
He offered some words of wisdom as someone who had previously gone through similar attacks himself. “What I will tell you is that you’re not crazy and nothing is actually going to happen to you; that’s the hardest thing to believe at this point,” he finished.
The Mysterious Girl singer was quickly flooded with messages of love and support from his doting fans, all of whom praised him for being so open about his condition. One fan thanked him for the advice, adding that his pep talk will “hit the mark” for a lot of the viewers watching the post.
A second user agreed, commending the I’m A Celeb star for being so brave, adding: “Never a truer word said.” Whilst a third account gave their own terrifying experience: “It is horrendous Pete – the palpitations, the nausea, the absolute terror that feeling of doom; just awful. Well done for speaking out.”
The Aussie hunk has previously opened up on his “horrific” issues with anxiety, including one harrowing moment where he suffered a breakdown in his twenties after becoming famous overnight. During an interview on World Mental Health Day in 2022, he said that his late twenties were “a total blur”, but through medication, he was able to push through things and help get better – alongside therapy.
He went on to say that anxiety can still manifest itself – particularly in stressful or tough situations. “Am I 100% cured now?” he asked himself, “I think mostly, but like many know, it can tap you on the shoulder every now and then and remind you it’s still there.”
