Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts turns a sweaty mishap into an epic win as she cheekily poses in front of a massive billboard featuring herself looking all hot and bothered.
She made headlines previously when her ‘wardrobe malfunction’ at a film premiere (hello, sweaty pits!) grabbed attention for all the wrong reasons.
But now, she’s lapping it up with a gigantic poster that quite literally douses her image with 1,000 litres of ‘sweat’ every so often. Teaming up as the face of Extra Flamin’ Hot snacks, Ashley’s been snapped by none other than famous photographer RANKIN.
Her so-called ‘Hot Couture’ is proving that spicy food sweat can be oh-so-chic.
The Heart Radio breakfast host had this to say: “What can I say? More than a quarter of people sweat after eating spicy foods, and I’m one of them. I honestly don’t care about the physical reactions to eating hot stuff, it’s natural and I don’t want anyone to feel ashamed of it.”
As the monster-sized sweaty billboard winks at onlookers, there’s a side of stats served up too.
The snack gurus behind the stunt found out that a whole 25% of Brits have coped with ‘sweat shaming’ that awkward moment when someone points out your perspiration. Sadly, 72% squirm over visible sweating and 45% actually feel shame about it.
When it comes to cringe-worthy sweaty scenarios, getting caught out on a first date topped the charts, with half of folks voting it the most embarrassing. 24% reckon being a sweaty Betty (or Billy) is just not attractive.
But hey, 30% of us think it’s fair game to glow a bit after a fiery feast, per OnePoll.com data.
Rob Pothier, speaking for the sizzlin’ Extra Flamin’ Hot range that’s spicing up Doritos, Walkers MAX and Wotsits Crunchy, said: “We’ve taken Ashley from sweat shame to sweat fame.”
“From her red-carpet fashion faux pas to becoming the face of our latest campaign, she has shown that sweat isn’t something to shy away from, but to embrace.”
