Rylan Clark brutally shuts down drug accusations in quick 8-word message

Rylan Clark has given an eight-word response as he hit back at allegations he had been taking narcotics.

Clark, 35, decided to clap back after a clip of the former Supermarket Sweep star went viral. In the clip, which was dated back to 2022, Rylan was on a night out with mates in London, when he jokingly asked if anyone had any “gear”.

Whilst he was having a laugh, one of the people in the group started to film Rylan as he made the poorly-timed joke. Soon after, Clark realised he had been filmed making the comments and urged his mate to stop recording immediately.

As they stumbled through the streets together, Rylan demanded: “Delete that now or I will f*****g kill you.” Fans of the former X Factor star were quick to come out in support of the star, as Rylan himself went onto Twitter to give his response to the clip.

Responding to press that had been circulating the video, Rylan had just eight words to say. In true Rylan fashion, he clapped back: “Morning. Slow news day. Have a good Sunday.”

Several of Clark’s mates were quick to jump to his support, with many famous faces tweeting their admiration for the star. Many of his fans also hit out at the press for covering the incident negatively, whilst branding the Eurovision commentator as “a brilliant presenter” and “a lovely, kind guy”.

It was clear that the outpouring of support had touched Rylan himself, as he took himself back onto Twitter later that day to thank everyone. “Cheers for your messages,” he penned, “proper decent – not usually expected on here. Thank you,” followed by a kiss.

Later on still, as the dust had started to settle, Rylan brought out the hilarious big guns as he shared a meme of EastEnders character Sonia Fowler. Writing in the caption, he joked: “What doesn’t kill you makes you Sonia,” as his fans revelled in the practical dig.

Rylan is currently in the midst of a huge project alongside good pal Robert Rinder on BBC Two. The show, titled Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour, sees the pair working their way around Italy as they follow the story of poet Lord Byron some 200 years after his death.

In the promotional material for the show, it was revealed that the show was inspired by the poem “Grand Tour” that had been written by Lord Byron hundreds of years prior. The BBC said of the show: “The Grand Tour was a cultural odyssey designed to turn young upper-class Brits into civilised, educated gentlemen, so will it have the same effect on Rob and Rylan?”

Rinder and Clark have been growing closer thanks to the filming of the show, but also in their own personal lives. Recently, it was revealed that the pair shared a divorce lawyer as their respective marriages came to an end, and as the show premiered, the pair have gushed over each other.

Taking to his social media, Rylan promoted the new programme, before delving into his love for Rinder. “This man has become family to me because of this experience – it really is a show like no other and we’re so proud of it. Hope you enjoy,” he said.
