Strictly Come Dancing bosses reportedly suggested recording Giovanni Pernice’s rehearsals with Amanda Abbington following several “crisis meetings”.
It’s also alleged BBC bosses insisted the 33-year-old Italian dancer apologise to the Sherlock actress after reviewing the footage.
It was previously claimed that Gio was the one who wanted his training sessions with Amanda to be filmed during the last series. It was said the dancer had concerns over her behaviour.

But now it’s alleged that Strictly producers were aware there was an issue with Giovanni’s teaching style and were “shocked” by what they saw after assessing his rehearsals with Amanda.
A source told The Sun: “The female executives realised there was a serious problem with Giovanni’s teaching style so installed cameras and a crew member to take notes on a log after about two weeks of them starting training.
“When the women reviewed the footage they were shocked by what they saw and asked Giovanni to apologise for his behaviour.”
It’s believed the BBC have launched an internal investigation into Gio following complaints from the star’s former Strictly dance partners. Giovanni has since pledged to “clear his name”.
Giovanni has been facing allegations about his teaching methods on the show. The star, who has been on the show for 9 years, denied claims he had been ‘abusive’ or ‘threatening’ toward his former female dance partners.
Determined to set the record straight, he took to Instagram, stating: “To my dear fans, You will be as surprised as I am that allegations have been made about my dance teaching methods in the media this week. Of course, I reject any suggestion of abusive or threatening behaviour, and I look forward to clearing my name.”
“Those who have followed my journey on Strictly Come Dancing over the last decade will know that I am passionate and competitive. No-one is more ambitious for my dance partners than me. I have always striven to help them be the very best dancers they can be. This has always come from a place of love and wanting to win – for me and my dance partners.”
A BBC spokesperson declined to comment when contacted by Daily Star.
