Devastated One Direction fans have gathered outside the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in central Buenos Aires, where singer Liam Payne fell to his death.
The singer plunged some 45feet from a third-floor balcony onto the internal patio of the £300-a-night luxury establishment. Looking at dates for November, nights at the 61-room hotel, with a sleek, modern design with white walls and exposed wood, are available from around £325.
The hotel is located on a street called Costa Rica in the Palermo Hollywood neighbourhood of the Argentinian capital, famed for its excellent eating options.

Its leafy locale has neat, cobbled streets, enticing bars and glass-walled padel courts just metres from the front door. From a birds’ eye view on Google Maps, a large pool is visible, an “urban oasis” as the hotel boasts enthusiastically on its website.
One of a trio of hotels in the CasaSur “collection”, the 4-star spot prides itself on its tasteful decor and situation in an exciting neighbourhood home to “bars, art galleries and the best restaurants in the city of Buenos Aires”.
Information about the hotel on its website says: “The 61 rooms at CasaSur Palermo Hotel are elegantly decorated in a chic and contemporary style and feature minimalist furniture, wooden floors and delicate textures, maintaining the hotel’s design philosophy. They were designed to satisfy, at all times, each of our guests’ needs.”
Meanwhile, up on the eighth floor, the hotel claims to have “one of the most magnificent terraces in the city of Buenos Aires, with 400metres-squared, grill, bar and an unparalleled view”.
Meanwhile, a description on Tripadvisor, of which 577 reviews have led to a four out of five rating, claims: “CasaSur Palermo Hotel represents the cool and hipster spirit of Palermo in its structure and design.”
However, not every visitor has had a good time. One man, who left a one-star review earlier this year claims: “We were informed about a party on the floor above us, assured it would end by 1am. Contrary to this, the party continued loudly until 3am.”
The Daily Star has connected CasaSur for comment regarding these claims.
Meanwhile, a news outlet in Argentina, Clarin, has published images appearing to show the room where Payne, 31, had been staying before his death. They claimed there was a smashed TV and traces of powder on a desk.
According to TMZ, police had previously been called to “an aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol”. Reports claimed he had smashed his laptop in the lobby and was escorted back to his room.
Payne is understood to have died instantly from the fall, with reports he suffered a fractured skull among multiple injuries, which led to him being killed instantly, emergency services said.
