The 1% Club faced an unexpected twist during the latest episode of the ITV quiz show.
A record-breaking 32 contestants were ousted from the game on Saturday (May 18) following an incorrectly answered question. Host Lee Mack was taken aback at this rare event, exclaiming: “Wow. That is massive. 32 people went out on that one! “.
The puzzling question responsible for upsetting the proverbial apple cart was: Which of these would it be impossible to do? (A) Marry your cousin’s cousin (B) Marry your brother’s widow (C) Marry your widow’s sister.

Answer C stumped majority of the contestants, prompting Lee Mack to clarify: “You would not be able to marry your widow’s sister as you would already be dead. Before we get any complaints – I accept that is a bit zombie-ist.”
The unique show format gives hundred competitors a chance to solve riddles and word puzzles against the clock, aiming to clinch a slice of the potential £100,000 prize pool. Typically, a mere handful of contestants get eliminated in each round, making the mass departure quite an extraordinary sight, reports Wales Online.
When asked which option he chose that led to an incorrect answer, contestant Jamil revealed: “I put B,” prompting host Lee to reveal: “Yes, your brother’s widow – she’s still alive but your brother has died. This isn’t me breaking any news, I’m just telling you the answer to the question! “.
Fellow contestant Kate, puzzled over her mistake, admitted: “I still thought I was right for a really long time, even after you told us the right answer.” Lee quipped back, “You sound just like my wife! ” and inquired, ” What did you put? ” To which Kate replied, “B,” Lee responded, “That’s very frustrating,”. Meanwhile, social media was abuzz with viewers stunned by the mass elimination from the game.
One viewer posted a meme of a shocked cat with the caption ‘WTF’, commenting: “How did 32 people get that wrong! #The1PercentClub,” while another exclaimed: “Flipping heck 32 out! ” A third chimed in: “A total massacre in that question.” Another tweet read: “32 out on that question. Must be a record. #The1PercentClub,” and yet another echoed the sentiment with: “WTAF? ? 32 out! #The1PercentClub”.
