However, while sport is undeniably at the core, the match-up itself is always drowned out with a plethora of commercials and star-studded music acts.
On this occasion, the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the San Francisco 49ers by a score of 25-22 in a match that captured the imagination of the fans. However, while supporters were overjoyed with the sporting spectacle on the field, the casual viewers are still struggling to get over Usher’s outrageous display.

While some raged about the sound issues and the lack of Justin Bieber, many enjoyed the act which featured Alicia Keys, Jermaine Dupri, H.E.R, will.i.am, Lil John and Ludacris.
But despite putting together a line-up that will undoubtedly stand the test of time, Usher hardly worked away from the performance with an enormous amount of cash. The NFL actually stand by the motto ‘It pays in exposure’.
With over 100 million people tuning in for the sporting extravaganza, this is likely true. Like acts before him, Usher is expecting his music sales to go through the roof, thus earning him enough revenue to make the performance more than worth his while.
In addition, the NFL covered the cost of Usher’s over-the-top performance, which was packed to the brim with outrageous lighting, and also doled out a basic union scale fee for his appearance.
And it couldn’t have come at a more convenient time for the artist, who just dropped his latest album ‘Coming Home’. It goes without saying that the 45-year-old will be expecting a significant increase in downloads and an enormous amount of fans queuing up to attend his ‘Present Past Future’ tour.
And to make things even better for the ‘DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love’ singer, When Jennifer Lopez strutted her stuff on the Super Bowl stage with Shakira in 2020, she gained 2.3 million followers across her social media platforms, meaning he’ll likely experience a similar growth, taking his fame to a whole new level.
