Vanderpump Rules star Katie Maloney has admitted there have been moments on the show that made her want to “run away”.
The reality star has been part of the show since it started 11 years ago. Viewers have seen all aspects of her life, including her romance, marriage and subsequent divorce with Tom Schwartz.
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, the 37-year-old admitted being forced to relive her drama on television can be difficult. She told us: “It’s not easy.

“You really do forget the cameras are there and sometimes you want to just run away because it is heavy. These are real life events that are happening and they’re very personal and are very difficult to process.
“You want to just be able to take a moment in silence and you don’t often get that time. But that is the nature of being on a reality TV show and opening up your life in that way.”
Katie went on: “You’ll have a moment out or some kind of heightened emotion and argument and you’re like, ‘Oh, that was really difficult.’ And then you’re like, ‘Oh my God,’ and cameras were there and millions of people are watching it now later, so I try not to think about it.”
Viewers have watched the breakdown of Katie and Tom’s relationship and marriage over the past few years. However last year, the drama that dominated was that between Tom Sandoval, Ariana Madix and Rachel (formerly Raquel) Leviss.
It came out that Tom had been cheating on Ariana with Rachel, and the fall-out was all caught on camera. It dominated social media and became known as the “Scandoval”.
Sadly, Rachel chose not to return to film the new season and took time out to heal from the chaos. And Katie has admitted she was disappointed by Rachel’s decision.
She told us: “I respected her decision to not come back. She felt that staying away from public and the show was the best decision for her – totally understand that.
“But had she wanted to really tell her side of things and wanted to share her story, I really felt that she did owe it to certain people to speak her side, to at least have that apology moment.
“I don’t want to say it was owed, but I just think that would have been something if she was planning on speaking on it more and not just leaving it in the past. I think she should have [come back] and I know it’s a difficult environment.
“But, I mean, I’ve been doing this for a long time. It’s deeply uncomfortable sometimes, but it is what we’ve signed up for.”
