Yet another Love Island couple split marking dozens of series break-ups this year

Another iconic Love Island couple have sadly split.

Jess Spencer and Ayo Odukoya have gone their separate ways after Spencer appeared to confirm the news with a TikTok comment. A fan wrote: “Girl, he needs to ask you yesterday,” to which Jess issued a savage response.

“‘Girl’ says who?? The internet?? He doesn’t need to ask me anything because we’re not together. Let it go,” the former reality star quipped. A screenshot of Jess’ remark was posted on X/Twitter and Love Island fans rushed to share their thoughts.

One person wrote: “I thought she was his cup of tea,” with a laughing emoji as someone else added: “I actually like these [two] as well, Jess was cute.” Another person joked: “Also announcing a break up through the comment section is soo diabolical [skull emoji].”

Someone else commented: “Though I hated how things went down on the show with him and Mimii and seeing Mimii hurt, I did think Ayo and Jess had great chemistry. That being said, men like Ayo will always be the same no matter how great the girl is [shy emoji] Jess will be fine [love heart emoji].”

Other fans claimed they “knew it was coming,” wished Jess “the best,” said they they were “sorry to hear the news” and noted: “I think it was a friendly break up because she still liked his pics he posted two hours ago.”

Another Love Island fan wrote “good for Jess” while another said that the pair “really suited” each other. Jessica Leigh-Anne Spencer entered the Love Island villa on day 29 of season 11, which aired earlier this year.

She placed fourth after coupling up with Ayomi Odukoya, who was one of the original islanders that entered the show on day one. On day 58, the nation tuned in to watch the season finalé where the couple’s co-stars Josh Oyinsan and Mimii Ngulube were declared the winners.

Jess and Ayo mark the 15th Love Island couple to break up in 2024 after a shocking string of splits this year. Notable couples to have parted include Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury, who competed in season 5 and were together for an impressive five years before they went their separate ways, Mimii and Josh, Joey and Jessy, Matilda and Sean and Grace and Reuben.
