AI shows what Grease’s Danny Zuko would look like if iconic film was released in 2025

EXCLUSIVE: As John Travolta celebrates his birthday, Daily Star is looking into what he would’ve look like as Grease’s Danny Zuko if it was released in 2025 instead of 1978

Grease remains one the best-loved films to ever be made despite being 47 years old, now as John Travolta celebrates his birthday we’re taking a look at what he would’ve looked like if it was released in this day and age.

As Hollywood actor and Danny Zuko star John turns 71, Daily Star are looking into what the lead role would look like if it was made in the current day. We used AI to find out what he would look like if it was brought out now, and it turns out the results are quite different.

Grease stole the world’s hearts after being released in 1978 when it became fans’ favourite love story for decades to come. The story was set in the summer of 1958 and followed lead characters Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson [Olivia Newton-John], fall in love with one another despite their social challenges.

In the film, Danny Zuko is the leader of the T-Birds who are at the top of the social standing tower at Rydell High School, and is the male protagonist of the musical’s 1978 film adaptation.

The character appeared to experiment more with style

In the first picture, John could be seen sporting a denim jacket but not in the usual oversized style of the T-birds, but instead, a cropped design. John has been can be seen dancing as he likely films himself busting a move to a viral TikTok routine.

In the second snap, he has ditched the cigarettes for an e-cigarette or vape, to fit in with the youth of today’s tastes of leaving smoking behind.

The character seemed to pick up another habit

Thirdly, a more femme look appears as the character can be seen sporting lipstick and a pink jacket, showing that lead characters are more welcomed in ditching gender norms when it comes to physical expression nowadays, with the lines becoming increasingly blurred between masculinity and femininity in fashion these days.

He also appeared to try on make-up

Speaking to Yahoo in a 2019 interview, the actor reminisced about landing his dream role of Danny as he labels it “a dream come true”. He told the publication: “I knew that character like the back of my hand. I knew what worked, and I knew what didn’t work. I knew what was funny, and I knew what wasn’t funny.

“I knew what was cool looking, in moves. I knew how to comb my hair, how to pose and how to be cool, because all I could do as the other character [Doody] was watch the coolest character — which was Danny — for over a year.”
