Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz are ‘feuding’ with David and Victoria Beckham, which came to a blows when the eldest of the brood snubbed the footballing legend’s 50th birthday plans – here’s everything we know
David Beckham celebrated his 50th birthday in style over the weekend, with fancy do’s in both Paris and London – but it didn’t take long for his bubble, or balloon, to be burst.
The footballing legend, 50, got his groove on for an elaborate party over the Bank Holiday with some star-studded guests and his family.
Despite Victoria, 51, and children Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper Seven, 13, being in attendance, there was a Brooklyn-sized piece missing to the lavish knees-up at the Core restaurant, Notting Hill.
However, their eldest son, 26, and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, being no-shows to David’s big birthday should come as no surprise to those who have been following the ‘power’ family for some while.
It appears that the couple missing David’s celebrations is just the tip of the iceberg that has been forming over a number of years – so what caused it?
Well, here, we take a look at everything we know about the Megxit-style Beckham feud so far – including wedding dress ‘drama’ to ‘sloppy seconds’ lovers.
‘Horrendous’ wedding
Weddings are a chance to get all the family together. They are also prime time for drama, and the Beckhams weren’t not exempt to this back in 2022.
What should have been a happy time seeing their oldest son get hitched to Nicola Peltz, daughter of billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, appeared to have turned out to be a bittersweet moment instead.
It’s rumoured that the rift between the couple and the Beckham family started with the dwindling relationship between Nicola and Victoria.
Nicola and Brooklyn got hitched in a lavish ceremony three years ago in Palm Beach, Miami, US, and the supposed drama of the event was revealed three months later by showbiz site Page Six.
An insider shared that the “build-up to the wedding was horrendous”, which was put down to Nicola and Victoria not getting along. The source claims that Nicola didn’t want Victoria “to be any part of the planning, and she wouldn’t include Victoria in on anything.. Communication was minimal.”
Top table
If that wasn’t enough to put the spanner in the works, apparently Posh and Becks weren’t happy with the top table of the wedding being focused on the Peltz family.
At the time, a source told Daily Mail: “The top table was all Peltzes, and it really felt as though the Beckhams were not at the forefront.
“There was a feeling that the wedding was all about the Peltz family, as you can imagine, as it was their house and their daughter and their son making the speeches.”
Things were apparently not helped when Peltz decided to change her wedding dress from one of Victoria’s designs to a Valentino gown.
Just months after the wedding, Peltz spoke with Vanity Fair about ditching Posh’s designs. She said that she “really wanted to” wear a dress from her mother-in-law, but a mix-up with the atelier made it difficult.
Nicola told the magazine: “I was going to and I really wanted to, and then a few months down the line, she realised that her atelier couldn’t do it, so then I had to pick another dress.
“She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s where it started, and then they ran with that.”
But, it seemed that the dress was the least of Nicola’s worries on the wedding day after she was allegedly left in ‘tears’ and ‘stormed off’ during her wedding reception when a guest read out a touching speech – for Victoria.
They also introduced what she thought was going to be the first-dance, as a mother and son routine instead.
From there, the family ‘feud’ was ignited – and it’s been sizzling away ever since.
Although, Nicola denied a ‘feud’ and any ill-feelings from and towards Victoria. The Beckham’s have never publicly commented on the rift.
Keeping it in the family
It’s thought that Brooklyn is closer to the Peltz family than Nicola is to the Beckham’s. That became clear after the then-newly weds jetted off into the sun with her family – without an invitation for Victoria and David.
There’s also a wedge of distance for the families, with the Beckham brood residing in London and Brooklyn living with wife Nicola in Los Angles, US.
“Brooklyn has become so, so close to the Peltzes, and to Nicola’s dad, especially. For Victoria, who is extremely close to Brooklyn, that has to be difficult,” a source told Page Six.
It is also believed that Brooklyn and Nicola have now missed 12 family engagements, which is believed to be partly fuelled by the lad having the same type as one of his brothers…
What do we mean? Well, back before he met Nicola, Brooklyn briefly dated Kim Turnbull when they were teenagers – she is now the girlfriend of younger brother Romeo.
Meaning that wife Nicola has to be in close quarters with her husband’s former flame at gatherings. Talk about keeping it in the family!
Kim, 24, seems to have got the nod of approval from Victoria – despite the DJ having ticked off two of her sons. Many have speculated that ‘high maintenance’ Victoria has not given the same thumbs up for Nicola.
This has reportedly further soured Brooklyn and Nicola’s relationship with Victoria and David. A source told The Sun: “As far as he sees it, his[Brooklyn] parents have chosen Romeo and his new girlfriend over him.”
Some say that Brooklyn isn’t happy with Romeo and Kim being together, not because of their shared past, but due to him and Nicola questioning “whether Kim has the right intentions in dating Romeo,” a source shared.
And that takes us to the latest ‘feud’ to shatter through the Beckham family…
Birthday blues
It all came to a heads on David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebrations over the weekend. The footballing legend had various plans for reaching the big 5-0, which first kicked off with an intimate family dinner in the Cotswolds on Wednesday (April 30).
However, Nicola and Brooklyn were not present for the meal in the £10million home – when the other kids and their partners were seated around the table.
They neither attended a family trip to Paris, where the rest of the brood visited a vineyard and went for a slap up meal in David’s favourite Parisian restaurant.
And things came to an ultimate blows when Brooklyn and Nicola missed David’s fancy bash in Notting Hill over Bank Holiday weekend, in favour of attending the Met Gala – which they eventually pulled out from.
It is believed that Brooklyn flew from LA to London at the beginning of the week to spend some time with his dad, although this did not materialise. Brooklyn also failed to say ‘happy birthday’ to his dad on social media, despite David showing love for his son on an Instagram post to honour his own birthday.
The pair then flew back to the US, where they had planned to go to the charity event – that costs around $75,000 for a ticket into the hyper-exclusive guestlist.
Victoria confirmed Brooklyn’s absence from the do after posting a photo at the party with her family, with her oldest son missing.
While Posh and Becks kept a smiley face for photos, they have apparently been left “utterly heartbroken” by the snub from their son.
Although Brooklyn and Nicola had planned to go to the Met Gala for some time, it is believed that they have avoided 12 family events this year – including Victoria’s birthday and Mother’s Day back in March.
According to sources, this is due to the presence of Kim. Others say that this has been an ongoing issue that sparked with Nicola from the wedding three years ago.
A source told the Daily Mail: “This is nothing to do with Kim and is all about Nicola. All David and Victoria want is their son back – and they will be there to welcome him any time.”
The source continued: “It’s a terribly sad situation and it’s been going on for a long time. They adore Brooklyn, their children are everything to them, but Brooklyn isn’t talking to them.
“He isn’t talking to the family and David and Victoria are heartbroken. It’s now the end of the week and despite

David Beckham has since posted an Instagram of two of his sons, Romeo and Cruz, on a post-birthday fishing trip in Scotland.
He wrote: “6 months ago planned a trip with my boys at the start of last week to camp and fish for my 50th was so much fun.” Again, Brooklyn was not pictured.
